Danny McBride and Walton Goggins could make a show together where they just sat in a room every episode and talked shite to each other and I would still watch it.

Love Vice Principals but I respectfully disagree. Gemstones is peak McBride writing and Goggins chews the scenery like nothing else as Uncle Baby Billy.

While Vice Principals is more of a two man show in some ways, Gemstones is a lot more broad for its characters and writing - the exception could be Adam Devine's character and arc, but that's forest/trees type stuff for me. Everything else is so darn good.
Uncle Baby Billy aside, Judy and BJ have amazing stuff, Kelvin still has good stuff, John Goodman was great, it's a different show, but really good.

One of my favorite comedies ever. I've watched it probably 5 times. Wish it would have had another season or two. Just as good if not better than Eastbound and Down imo.
Almost impossible to pick a favorite line but right before they burn Belinda's house down and Gamby is digging around in her trash and is like "Come on Lee, this is useless, all I'm finding is used tampons and empty bottles of cocoa butter."
This scene always has me crying too. Long clip but at 2:15 when he is humping him

The Righteous Gemstones is hilarious no doubt, but I still keep Vice Principles above it. Vice Principles hits on every single episode and has a legit storyline. Not crying laughing every episode like Eastbound and Down, which is probably the only show to ever do that for me.
TRG had quite a few dud episodes over the first two seasons and Kelvins storyline (coming from someone who loves Adam Devine) is just horrible and they under utilize it's best character, Baby Billy. But still a hilarious show.

Exactly what I did. I finished Gemstones, and figured I'd try Vice Principals out. My wife was walking by and I flagged her down to make her watch this scene. She laughed her arse off, and is now watching it with me.
