Why did he have to call Mona Lisa Vito up to testify about the tire tracks and go through all that hassle? He should've just gone straight to George Wilbur. George Wilbur also should've noticed about the positraction and independent rear suspension from the tracks if he was such an expert.

That's the point man. He didn't know and got shown up by old girl. Thus his testimony was garbage once she testified, throwing a major wrench in the prosecutions case.

Wilbur was an opposing witness, bought and paid for by the prosecution. NO way he was going to help Gallo.

Mona was an qualified as an expert by the Court and instead of paying her thousands of dollars, he got to bone her.

Win-Win.

I've always wondered how Vinny knew to put Lisa on the stand after looking at the picture himself. He wasn't a car expert, so how did he know Lisa would know that a car with positraction made the tire marks?

I also wonder about these tire tracks and rubber left. How did Mona Lisa narrow it down to only cars from the 1960s? What if it was some shitty car made in 1980??? I think this case should be re-tried.

And USMC, Sherrif Folley wasn't a defense expert either but he stood tall under oath and help Gambini out.

one of the key pieces of evidence against the defendants was the car they drove, assuming her testimony to be true, there was 1 car that was very similar that could easily be mistaken for the car they drove and would be available in the same color. Every car made in the 80's could have made the tracks and it wouldn't matter, the key was only 2 cars made around the time their car was made could.

Entertaining, but flawed movie, Marisa Tomei is smokin though.

Also, risking that old black lady guessing how many fingers he was holding up at a 20% probability was very reckless. He should have held up a flashcard with a picture on it or something.

Always thought the exact same thing. Also really fricking ballsy only going with 2 fingers.

especially after judge chamberlain haller busted him out the first time he held up 2 fingers. He really called that old lady's bluff.

He made up for it with his astute observation skills while watching his grits being cooked. That ended up being a key piece of information he could've easily overlooked, especially after being woken up repeatedly by the trains and the cattle.

Yes, but that's his duty as a public officer. The state cannot withhold exonerating evidence.

A tense moment, for sure. Those old black women can be feisty.

Don't forget the giant loud whistles. If I ever start a band, I swear I'm gonna name it, "Giant Loud Whistles."

Wilbur didn't miss anything because the picture that busted the case open was developed by Mona Lisa and shown to Vinny AFTER George Wilbur testified.
