Great Adaptation so far with a stellar cast:

Paul Dano
James Norton
Lily James
Brian Cox
Gillian Anderson
Jim Broadbent
Greta Scaachi
Tuppence Middleton

Almost finished it and I have to say it has re-awakened my interest in the novel. I had to read it in college and slogged through it with minimal interest. Much more interested in history now than I ever was in school.

It's filmed beautifully and the actors have really brought the characters to life in a way I never was susceptible to while reading it long ago. Paul Dano is a very strange and interesting actor. He surprises me with the way he can infiltrate a character and make them interesting. Brian Cox and Gillian Anderson are underutilized but this adaptation has their characters occupying very minor roles. I really decided to watch it with my interest in Napoleon piqued lately with the Ridley Scott bio coming out. It's definitely worth a watch. On Amazon Prime currently.

100%

He's such a great actor, then good actor, then disappears, then great actor again.

There Will Be Blood and Little Miss Sunshine will forever remind me of him

Yes it’s great. I recently watched this, and now I am reading the book for the first time.

Wife and I binged it over the weekend. It was really good. Wife is not into literature so she had no idea what the story was about. We enjoyed it, she did a fair amount of boo-hooing and told her friends to watch it.

Really like their Charles Dickens adaptations especially Little Dorrit and Oliver Twist.
