The idea of it, as all sequels of this caliber, sounds way better than the finished product will be. I hope I am wrong, though! Would love a strong sequel to it.

Maybe they'll become Baby Shower Crashers? Gender Reveal Party Crashers? Graduation Party Crashers? Bar Mitzvah Crashers? Sweet 16 Crashers? The options are endless!

They could have kids in their teens, so maybe it IS about crashing sweet-16s and bar mitzvahs?

How would you sequel it? The stars were already paired off at the end of 1.

Vince: Owen, you broke, too?
Owen: yeah I am.
Vince: wedding crashers 2?
Owen: good idea.

Vince Vaughn has a net worth of around $70 million

Same for Owen Wilson.

Plot guesses:

1. One of the couples are now divorced which will lead to the divorced character pulling the other happily married character back into wedding crashing.

2. Both couples pick up where the first movie left off where they all go to crash a wedding. Even though they're older they still pull the same wedding crashing shenanigans. Less fornication if they're still coupled obviously, but you could still pull off some fun and funny sequences.

3. Both couples have grown up kids who are now crashing weddings themselves and ask for advice. This leads to VV and OW's character being back in the game and leading by example. A huge stretch would be if Bradley Cooper's character was now married and has a kid who's getting married just to have Owen Wilson's son crash the wedding and steal Bradley Cooper's son's girl

Whichever direction they go, Bradley Cooper and Christopher Walken need to be included in some way or another!

ETA: as much as I like him...do NOT bring back Will Farrell as that same character. He was a good plug for that brief part of the movie which has led to massive use of "MA, the meatloaf!!!" and "what an idiot" gif, but there's no need to reuse that character.

There is absolutely no reason to do this. It's been over a decade and a half since the original was released.

Because we live in a time where new ideas are too risky and where things aren't allowed to be laid to rest once it's just their time.

The original is one of my favorite movies. Excited about the sequel but… keeping my expectations low.

That scene when christopher walken walks in vince vaughns room when he is tied up to the bed and kind of yanks on the rope and rolls his eyes and gives that speech is one of the funniest scenes of all time. All while his son, Todd, is hiding in the closet waiting for his dad to leave so he can play tummy sticks. The painting was awesome too.
