They're not comparable. Candy was a great actor with humanity and nuance who had an affect on everyone he worked with. With respect to Farley, I think he could have been more but he knew people wanted him to just be fat, loud and silly.

I have heard it said that's why he killed himself. At least indirectly why, I guess.

Farley and whoever thinks otherwise really doesn't understand comedic acting.
Felt like giving a douchelike response like the other posts in this thread but in the opposite direction.

Depends on what you are talking about
Acting ability Candy by a galaxy. Not only was a genius "comedic" actor he was also brilliant actor by himself. He could make you laugh while hitting you in the feels easily and it was always believable.
On the other hand Farley has some of the funniest moments I have ever seen and Candy has never gave me a gut wrenching loose my breath laugh like Farley could.
Overall it's Candy for sure but I give Farley the edge in mindless, thoughtless, genuinely hilarity.

This. Candy was an actual actor.

By far Candy. By far.
I think John Belushi is a better comparison to Chris Farley.

Candy was the best.
Farley was too high on drugs.

I had to check the date on this thread cause it gets posted like once a year. The only reason you would compare these two is because they are dead and fat. Thats it.

Also, I don't see Chris Farley doing a scene like this one in Uncle Buck where Candy goes off on the wart lady.

Jesus. Some of you people.

I agree with the general assessment that Candy had more depth and was a better actor, but he died ten years older than Farley. Farley really didn't have a chance to expand he repertoire.
