IMO it wasn't THAT bad and was actually pretty funny. Was it Macfarlane fatigue?

It was ok but Cleveland and his family aren't interesting.

What's funny is they actually did some things better than Family Guy (not that it's difficult) but just overall fell flat because it was the same thing. It went for 4 or 5 seasons so it wasn't that much of a failure.

Oversaturation. 3 McFarland shows spread him pretty thing and fox prolly wanted to take some off his plate once he started talking about quitting FG

Cleveland was a good support character, but I felt unsuitable for a lead. I'm surprised it lasted as long as it did and I never watched it. Of course, I stopped watching Family Guy after about Season 5. American Dad was the funniest MacFarlane show for awhile.

It was the definition of derivative and Seth McFarland has a limited number of jokes.

To the point that when he got he's own show they had to make up an entire new family for him..

Also true. But I do like how they brought all the new Brown family characters to FG.

Yeah I thought it was a funny show, but it wasn't a show that made the limited group to fit into my schedule.

Because it lacked "special" characters that defines a show like this. It was mediocre, not bad or good. Rollo and Junior were the best regular characters.

Compared to Family Guy which has Stewie, Brian and Quagmire.

American Dad has Roger, which is one of the best chars ever on TV. He fits anything they want to do because of his infinite personas, ambiguous sexuality and selfish nature.

King of the Hill was dead when Lucky showed up and Poochie'd the show.
