I always assumed he got it and beat it because he’s Forrest F’ing Gump and can do anything

For all we know, she contracted the disease sometime between 1976 and 1982
And for Jenny that’s like 200 dicks give or take. Plus needles too.

Too harsh. She gave Forrest his first and only taste of pussy.
She gets a bad rap.

Because as crazy as it sounds, vaginal intercourse has a very low transmission rate.
The vagina is an amazing organ!

So those ad campaigns during the mid-90s were somewhat propaganda?
They wanted everyone to think straight people were just as much at risk as homosexuals.
Surprise surprise, they weren’t.

He wouldn't have cared and would have raised that baby, even if it wasn't his.
She was his oldest and dearest friend. Closer than most families. He would have done anything and given her everything he had. He would never let her child go without.
Plus he really had nothing else. That child gave him a purpose..

Winston Groom, the creator and writer of the Gump books said Jenny died of Hep C. Cant link right now but it can be found if you search.

The movie clearly wanted the audience to assume it was AIDS

She probably got it from the chess playing chimp that he went to space with.

Elephant in the room is huge, no pun intended.
HIV was spread by needles and anal, period.

What are you implying about Magic Johnson?

Hep C wasn't officially "discovered" until 1989, but it had been a serious mystery illness for many years. Not sure exactly when Groom wanted that set, but it's appropriate and probably accurate for her to die of a mysterious illness, and it's natural that most of us assumed AIDS when the movie came out, because AIDS had overshadowed Hep c by then. But they were both mostly spread by needles or sexual transmission.

DOes this mean that Magic Johnson was probably doing some different things in LA than I thought?

Tangent: I think the movie of Forrest Gump was more about the importance of good parenting.
