It's better than I expected. I don't know if I would put it ahead of BBT in its prime imo but I did enjoy it and think it merits a watch

Agree with this. If you haven't watched BBT it might take a while to get in a rhythm with who Sheldon is. But it stands on its own.

I enjoyed it, especially the later seasons when it turns more into the Cooper's

I liked it, got caught up on all the episodes.

Unlike BBT, it is witty, quick moving- and DOES NOT have a laugh track, which I despise

Surprisingly, I’ve heard good things.

I think many thought it would be a bit of a train wreck, so expectations were low.

I watched and generally enjoyed big bang theory, but most people won’t admit to it.

It's great. The problem is that there were so many stories Sheldon told on BBT but they never fleshed out on YS, or they were directly contradicted by what they showedm

The biggest problem is that as an adult, Sheldon portrayed his dad as a no-good, alcoholic piece of shite. YS doesn't portray George in that light at all.

I think I enjoyed YS more than the BBT. I would describe the show as sweet - but not in a condescending way.

Plus, Sheldon's MeMaw is a hoot!

I really enjoyed it. Was very interested in the George Sr storyline toward the end as well.

I like it. Kinda has a Wonder Years-esque feel to it but more comedic.

I think it was more fun watching Sheldon on TBBT as an adult act like a child rather than on YS as a child act like an adult.

It’s much better than I expected. There is a different energy with a single camera comedy. I don’t remember Lorre doing this before.

I had slowly stopped watching BBT after so many seasons, and when I heard about young Sheldon I thought it was just going to be another BBT making fun of Sheldon’s family and never cared to watch it.

Then I read a thread here about final season and episodes which didn’t seem anything like the BBT and also how they switched to being more respectful of the family especially the dad using premise that Sheldon was an unreliable narrator of what was actually happening around him during his childhood.

I started to watch it. It took a few episodes to adjust to it being single camera, no laugh track, and the different actors playing known characters, but it was really good and really positive about family. It was at times deeper with some really touching moments that I didn’t expect from a Lorre comedy. It showed how even if they didn’t always like it the entire family chipped in to help Sheldon move up early to HS and then college. The entire family was well cast including casting the real life daughter of the actress who played Sheldon’s mom in BBT which I thought was just a cheap trick until watching her. I wasn’t sure about how a young kid could play Sheldon, but after a few episodes where I thought he just copying Sheldon he did really well. Only had a handful of episodes towards the end where puberty started to change his voice a little too much.

Like someone above mentioned it shifted into becoming more about the entire family than solely focusing on Sheldon.

It actually made me watch the last few seasons of BBT that I had missed. You could see towards the end of BBT how they started to change perception of Sheldon’s family some with Sheldon wishing his dad was at his wedding and later watching the video of his dad.

I really liked YS.

Missy’s one-liners were some of the funniest moments in a mainstream sitcom in a while.

I just finished my 3rd complete watch of The Big Bang Theory last week. No shame whatsoever

I've been leery of Young Sheldon but I think I will give it a go

I thought it was way better than BBT, but that is because I really don't like the Jim Parson's Sheldon.
