This show by far. I couldn't finish the Vince Vaughn show and I almost never quit on a series.

The 2 shows aren't all that similar. Bad Monkey is a quirky noir type show. Its as much of a comedy as it is a crime drama.

This show is more of a drama about rich people, but it does have plenty of humor.

I liked Bad Monkey a lot, and I like this show so far, but its kind of apples and oranges.

I love the show but have one question. If the English girl he banged in the first episode never complained to HR, how did Hamm's boss find out and fire him?

but the premise is dumb and unbelievable.

The dude loses his job. OK he makes a lot of money but has a lot of debt. His business manager tells him he can make it 7 months without working. His boss that fires him tells him they will give him a 6 month severance. That's 13 months. He only has a 2-year non-compete.

He starts robbing his neighbors the first week.

Ha, yeah, same. Like, I can see stealing a couple of things if they are convenient like that first watch and roll of bills, but then to start breaking into homes...

Valid point. It appears he was set up by someone. But Who???

He makes it clear to say several times to old boss that "you just wanted my book"

Also, I'm not too familiar with the "working capital" that he claims to be his, but that seems to be the bigger issue in the deal. So how much was in there?

I guess word got around, and it was technically against company policy.

But that does lead to another question: wouldn't he have a pretty easy lawsuit against his boss for wrongful termination considering she never reported it and made filed a complaint? They'd at least give him a big settlement.

Also, the dude that broke his leg on the bball court needs to drink some fkn milk.

Likely millions of dollars, even 10’s of millions possibly.

Guys like him don’t get a salary. They get a % of assets under management and a % of the return. Their earnings remain in the fund as carried interest which vests over time. They take a monthly draw to live on, which I’m not totally familiar with but I assume is a % of the vested amount.

He left with her in a bar with other people from work there. Also, office gossip?

Even if she didn't report him, it doesn't mean she didn't talk about it.

Not sure how he could be set up if she wasn't involved.

I got a little lost on that last phone call between her and Coop. What exactly was Coop asking her to do(or not do)?

I don’t think the sex with the employee was a set up. I thought it was gossip from others in her group seeing them flirting at the bar and then leaving together.

I am not sure they could have proven it if both had just stayed firm with an alternative explanation.

His boss takes him out to gym and jacuzzi to spring it on him which makes Hamm’s character basically admit to it thinking boss was joking or would fix situation and also without ability to talk to the British girl or even be given any notice from HR. His boss then seems to move to attempting to get the girl promoted under his group which seemed to be a way to get her and her testimony under control.

I think it was about taking Hamm’s character’s business completely including his capital without being able to move clients to any new employer for 8 years. It seems personal for some reason and not just about being a hard arse about company policy towards everyone. Maybe Boss being older and probably not as smart as Hamm fears he was going to take his job, or he was going to figure out some scam the boss had going on. If if was sleeping with his wife or daughter (due to boss’s age) or something outside of business relationships I think Hamm’s character would have mentioned it during one of his inner monologue/narration bits.

The show is entertaining enough for me to watch but I don’t really know what the point is going to end up being. And I find the part where this guy can walk in on someone banging his wife and then constantly be around them and act comedic as so far fetched.
