Any difference between the words commonly used for "REMIX" ?

Several times, I'll see various ways of saying a song was "remixed" by someone:

remix
remode
redux
edit
mix

Any difference among them or do they all pretty much mean the same thing?

"edit" means just that, it's edited...cut in some way. There's no remixing in an edited version of a song.

Mix- two or more songs thrown together, done so repeatedly over time is a live mix.
Remix- loops, hooks, samples,etc... used to change the original into something new yet similar.

I've personally never heard the terms redux or remode used in EDM/Electronica


Remixes are common in EDM because a lot of times a DJ/Producer will like a song that isn't the genre they normally play. But want to use it in their live sets but to their sound.
Example

Same song but a remix
