I want something that jams but doesn’t break the bank either.

Going under my elevated camp.

Thx

I have yet to see an outdoor sound system better than a good (or a pair of good) Bluetooth speakers

This. I thought about investing in an outdoor system and unless you are going to need a really large sound space, you’re better off going with a nice Bluetooth. I bought the Bose Revolve Soundlink and never had any issue using that to party outside.

This is a kind of goofy take. Bluetooth is about as low-quality as a digital signal can get. It's also very short-range, so you can't go far. Sure, you can leave your phone right next to it, but that kind of defeats the purpose.

All that said, I have a Sonos Amp powering a pair of Focal components for the pool, and it sounds phenomenal. It certainly wasn't cheap, but it didn't break the bank by any means.

Depending on where you mount, you're either going to have to run speaker wires to the speakers or power for bluetooth/sonos speakers.

We also each have our own definition of breaking the bank, so a basic budget would help narrow down your options.

Just purchased a new home. It came with a cabana/patio hard wired with Rock Solids and some really large Definitive Technology 2 ways. 5 total speakers.

They sound really nice.

Depends on the use case. I have a high end 2 channel system, and I also have multiple BT capable speakers for portable use, including a pair of battery powered Ion Tailgater speakers that link together. I also have a small AC powered PA DJ type pair that have BT plus line in, and they sound better if I need. I picked up an older gen iPhone (since the iPod Touch is gone) to use as a dedicated source so I don't have to use my main phone, for about $300.

If the OP wants a system for a single spot like a back yard / deck, then a higher quality wired setup is great but it's usually not mobile. So if you want to move it around at all, BT speakers are great. BT 5.0 or higher has better range and potentially quality. AptX, AptX HD, LDAC can give better quality BT that's easily good enough for casual outdoor listening.

I just bought a pair of marine grade 600w 6.5” Pyle outdoor Bluetooth speakers on Amazon for $160.

I’ll check back with how they sound after I install. The reviews were great for the price. We will see

These are the best outdoor speakers I’ve ever heard. I have 4 powered by a small amp @4 ohms

8” Dayton Audio w/Bass radiator speaker
Aiyima amp 2x150 @ 4ohms

Very well rounded sound. Deep bass for outdoor space. Totally too much for my pool /backyard if I turn it up.

I had some Dayton Audio outdoor speakers at my last house. Always liked them a lot.

Dayton Audio / Parts Express typically gives very good value from what I've seen. They have some very good, practical and well designed speakers.

Get a couple of Sonos Move. They're wireless, portable, and have rechargable batteries.

I like these because they have 8" woofers, which is difficult to find in outdoor speakers. If you have a large area to fill with decent sound, I don't think there is a substitute for woofer size to get enough bass out in the open. Very very close, they tend to be boom and sizzle, but unless I'm right up on the one by the garden hose I don't notice.

I'm amazed how well that little receiver drives four 8" speakers. The amp is the size of a paperback book and the power supply isn't large either.

Get a pair of the Harman Kardon Onyx Studio bluetooth speakers and sync them together. They'll do what it sounds like you're asking for and they sound great.

Yeah, this is what I'd go with, but they do require an internet connection. That's one drawback there.

Anker Soundcore mini, Super-Portable Bluetooth Speaker are good outdoor speakers.
