Looking at tickets for a show later in the year but never been to the venue before. Is this a decent place to catch a show?

I see you can upgrade your tickets to A-List or Elevated. I usually don’t even consider upsells like this, but honestly the price difference isn’t all that bad. The A-List gets you access to the bar area for drinks and bathrooms (pretty self explanatory), but Elevate gives you access to an elevated viewing area. Any experience with how this elevated area is? Still close to the stage or is it further in the back? Worth it to get the upgrade or should I stick to slumming it up with the heathens on the floor?

By your wording I'm not sure you know that this is an outdoor venue, in other words the back yard of Avondale Brewing. It's big, though, maybe 1500 capacity. Big stage with large LED screen. Concrete for the front 20' or so, grass the rest of the area. I lived in BHM for many years and enjoyed many a show there. Enjoyed even more beers there.

Yeah, I know it’s outdoors. Just worded it weirdly, I guess. Do you know where that elevated viewing access is? Next to the stage or in the back of the yard?

It's been a few years since I moved back to BTR, so I can't say.

The elevated is very new. I'm trying to find a picture they posted on instagram, but it may have just been to their story. It is basically a deck that is over all of the concession areas and a little more towards the main building.

ETA: here is an Instagram video of the construction.

I have no idea how it will be compared to the normal area, since it is brand new. Hell, it may not even be open yet. The general floor is good though. Not really a bad area. Everywhere can see the stage very well.

Update: a friend in the BHM concert scene tells me that Avondale plans to have it open this weekend. If not, then real soon now.
