IMO it’s Chris Cornell
Extremely naturally gifted and talented singer. He had unbelievable vocal range.
Could sing both low and high seamlessly

Pavarotti

I’ve seen him in concert.
It was nice to hear obviously he’s a great singer.
But you know what I mean. Not Opera

Dude always sounded like he was trying to squeeze out a turd. He was the hammy over-actor of singers. Give me David Bowie and/or George Michael over him.

Scott Weiland for a wild card selection. He could croon or wail.

Opera singers are in a different league. That is the powerlifting of singing.

I watched college age opera singers once and this soprano sang and it hurt my ears. This was without a microphone.

Gotta go with Cornell, but surprised Eddie Vedder hasn't been mentioned yet.

He’s one of my favorite. I actually prefer Eddie’s voice but I’m talking range and voice ability

Watch this.
They both sound amazing!!

I agree. I’ve always like AIC but I have a new found love for them now.
Lane and Jerry were incredible.
Best unplugged session
