Best unplugged session
I like their unplugged album but Layne was a huge mess by that point and his voice was shot. Jerry has to carry him big time

Give me David Bowie and/or George Michael over him
I'll toss in Richard Ashcroft.

90's. Jeoff Tate. Queensryche.
Geoff's heyday was pretty much right down the middle between the '80s and the '90s. The Warning, Rage For Order, and Mindcrime were '80s albums. Empire, Promised Land, Hear In the Now Frontier, and Q2K were in the '90s. Promised Land is vastly underrated, (low key, it might be their best record after Mindcrime), but HITNF was a terrible record.

Chris Cornell is the obvious choice, but I'll throw in Jeff Buckley and Lenny Kravitz as well.
Jeff Buckley - "Last Goodbye"
Lenny Kravitz - "Let Love Rule"

Most have been mentioned, but Grant-Lee Phillips is worth a mention as well.

Anthony Kiedis is not a “singer”
Posted on 1/20/24 at 8:33 am to metallica81788
I’ve always considered Kiedes as a punk rock rapper. Awful.

Mick Hucknall is kinda hard to beat. Simply Red started in the 80s though, so I'm not sure this is the right time frame.

For rock, absolutely.
Chris Cornell supposedly has a 4 octave voice

Most won’t probably know who this is but my vote is for Mike Farris from the Screamin Cheetah Wheelies
