REO Speedwagon guitarist. Man, he looked rough toward the end. I know he was a pretty bad alcoholic but I think there was another contributing factor. Some kind of thyroid disease he had but I can't find anything on it. Died yesterday at 65.

Always a sad thing when someone dies, but good God he was a horrible guitar player. Absolutely hated that band.

Was never a fan of REO but still sad.

Yeah that's why Billy Gibbons said Rickeath was one of the better Gibson players. Check out the early REO stuff.

His slide on Roll With the Changes is epic.

They either recently played or were about to play the Coast.

If you're talking about REO Speedwagon, he hasn't been an active member of the band for a number of years. He was just one of the founders and played on their biggest hits.
I think the current band is scheduled to play Cypress Bayou in about 2 weeks. I doubt they'll cancel. They'll probably pay some kind of tribute to him though.

Saw REO just this past Thursday in DC. I've liked all their stuff even though they were before my time.

He was pretty good. I liked REO in the day. Very underrated, then went pop.
