Into 70s & 80s? Awesome Aussie Cover Band (HSCC) does it all (just binged)

Seems like all the best cover bands of Pop-Rock 70s-80s catalog online is being done (and spectacularly) by NON-AMERICANS. I've recently listened to cover/tribute bands from: Australia. Germany. Philippines. ALL amazing and spot on.
This particular band (HSCC) has different lineups, doing a wide variety of stuff. Check out their YT Channel.
(Easy Lover, Phil Collins / Phillip Bailey) (very spirited rendition)
(Somebody's Baby, Jackson Browne) (this vocalist does everyone -- Jackson Browne is a difficult. Pulls it off perfectly)
(Owner of a Lonely Heart, Yes) (Nailed)
(China Grove, Doobies) (Nice to see somebody doing the Doobies)
(Layla, Clapton) (balls to do this)
(The Warrior, Scandal) (Spirited and tight)

They are good. I am not a fan of most of their selections. I did like some though. Sultans of Swing.

They don't upload a lot of videos anymore, but these kids are pretty solid.

That was excellent. Nice harmonies too. Like seeing the younger gens get into real music like this.

Their Sultans surprised me by how tight all of it is. Mark Knopfler vocals -- a difficult mission) was nailed.
Yeah, HSCC are excellent but if someone is looking more for 1990s and beyond (or metal), they aren't doing it. FWIW, I'm not crazy about the Disco era stuff, but...

THESE Filipino guys are the GOAT of Tribute/covers -- they literally do it all (their Beatles and 60s stuff is off the hook):

Ok, I guess. You know these tracks were all done in a studio, right? The Owner of a Lonely Heart cover was awful.
You were surprised to see someone covering Doobies? There is not a single band around here that doesn’t do Long Train Running at least.
Would like to see what they could pull off live.

Yes, I know. So they rented a studio. But it's not mixed by hired studio engineer guns in the booth. The keyboard player does all that with software.

That's Ok...I was interested in all opinions.

Yes, I am surprised to see the Doobies featured -- these are younger people. Fwiw, they did renditions of Long Train Running, Listen to the Music, China Grove and Jesus is Just Alright. (With basically four different line ups.)
I not only enjoy the technical skills of these types of bands and the challenge of covering 40-50 year old classics, but their showmanship, nuanced changes, and spirit. Kinda cool how they integrate the younger chicks into the numbers as well. IMO they may miss the mark here and there, but they shine at most of it.
According the leader of the band (cueball bassist), what we are seeing in these performances IS "live" and not edited.

I liked the girls voices. The guy that was singing lead on most of those, not at all. It all seemed really sterile.
Not to be a total poo poo, those folks can play and I saw a few videos I liked. Sussudio was good with all the horns.

The kid that opened on guitar in that Low Darts “Reelin’ In the Years” video made some Eli Manning faces.
That was an awesome cover, though.

I wonder how much of the tracks in the song were actually recorded at the same time they were shooting the video. Not many, I imagine. But it looked like they were having fun with it.

I doubt any. That is how these bands do it these days. Just gotta look and sound good doing covers. If it is for an original song, cool, but for covers, I would rather hear what they can really do live. Most of the cover bands around do the same thing for their promo vids they put on the Facebooks. Just get some footage of you playing and then go in a studio and cut it and polish it. Doesn't have to be a studio proper as a lot of folks can do it on their laptop now and sound pretty decent.

Just tell us how much you fricking hate all of this and move on. Damn.

Not sure how long it will stay up, but they are live streaming a show right now. They sound really good. Not as good as their recordings, but close enough to show their talent.
