Is there a better mainstream country artist out right now than Chris Stapleton

I like classic country but find this guy boring.

I have yet to understand the appeal that everyone is constantly trying to throw on him. Sure, he isn't Florida/Georgia line, but he also just isn't that good.

Luke Combs is pretty damn good. Listen to his new song with Brooks and Dunn.

He’s just a white blues artist honestly

Somewhat contrived. Almost fat Lynyrd Skynyrd meets the Voice.

His version of Tennessee whiskey is more soulful than the original, and I love George Jones. He has talent

Dude is very talented and listenable. In a sea of new interchangeable country artists, he found his bluesy niche. And I hate country.

Never could get into him

Stapleton is a great song writer and excellent singer IMO. "Millionaire" is so smooth and well done. "Where Rainbows Never Die" from his days with the SteelDrivers immediately comes to mind as well.
I think Cody Jinks and Tyler Childers are also very good at this time.

I think a lot of people ITT have only heard a few of his songs. To me his best songs aren’t the ones that got the most airplay. Daddy doesn’t pray anymore and whiskey and you are both beautiful songs and his voice sounds really good

Yes. Cody Jinks, Whitey Morgan, Randall King, oh wait you said mainstream. That's the 'who's the tallest midget in the room' metaphor.

You probably didn't mean it to be but that's a compliment. Country music was founded and is crossed with blues and gospel since it began.

yes he's very good, but a bit played out and a one trick pony.

This, I like classic country but the current genre is dead to me.

Do you consider the Zac Brown Band country?
