So I’m in a rental car on business flipping around stations and I hear a song called “Rain is a good thing” by Luke Bryan with the lyrics…

Rain makes corn,
Corn makes whiskey,
Whiskey makes my baby
feel frisky.

Could be the worst song I’ve heard, ever.

Who the frick listens to this clown and why is he so popular? Good for him, I guess, because he’s banging out absolute trash and making millions but frick me, that is some horrible shite.

You should go to an NSAI publisher's night.

Was forced to watch him at the Endymion Ball about 5-6 years ago. Worst musical performance I have ever seen & it’s not even close. He was so bad we couldn’t even laugh. The women were going nuts. We are living in Idiocracy.

Luke Bryan is the last true outlaw country singer and these little city boy lib poser types like Stapleton and Childers don’t even deserve to hold his Copenhagen can

If you hate "Rain is a Good Thing", you'll hate his song "Country Girl Shake it For Me". The lyrics in that are even worse.

Those 2 are good compared to Knockin Boots. Got to hand it to him though, trash music has made him a fortune. And he does hunt and fish with some decent folks.

"Shake it for the birds, shake it for the bees
Shake it for the catfish swimmin' down deep in the creek
For the crickets and the critters and the squirrels
Shake it to the moon, shake it for me girl"

Absolute cringe.

Fat 15 year old kids wearing Teva type sandals with socks on in the cat section of the Wal-Mart in Iuka, MS*

*my wife and I actually saw a kid wearing a black Luke Bryan concert t-shirt in Iuka Wal-Mart dressed like this buying kitty litter. We bring him up every time we see or hear anything about Luke Bryan

I'm not a fan of luke bryan and absolutely loathe the entire bro country genre, but this thread got me to thinking so I looked at his wiki. I DO rememnber ages ago when he was brand new kinda liking one or two of his songs I happened to catch on the radio.Looking at his wiki page, his first album was from 2007 and had "all my friends say" which I remember thinking was a catchy little ditty. His next album was from 2009 and had the aforementioend rain is a good thing and anothe rpopular hit "someone else calling you baby" which I remember being a pretty decent tuen.

And then it happend. The fame got him. His third album shoudl ahve bene a major red flag just by the title alone "tailgates and tanlines" barf. That one included the previously referecned "country girl shake it for me". At this point Luke Bryan has completely drifted far, far away from solid country tunes and has steered headfirst into poppy mindless toxic waste.

Nashville / pop / radio /half-rap country may be the worst sub-genre of music that exists.
