The Stones album December’s Children is full of blues covers.

The Beatles have a good cover of You’ve Really Got a Hold On Me.

Take Me to the River - Talking Heads

as much as I like Talking Heads, no way it comes close to Al Green's version.

I guess Black Crowes Hard to Handle is too obvious to post.

Jerry Garcia and Merl Saunders-Roadrunner

There's an even better version by Legion of Mary off of Garcia Live Volume 3 but I can't find it on YouTube.

Superstition-Stevie Ray Vaughan

People Get Ready-Jeff Beck and Rod Stewart

Everyday People-Joan Jett and the Blackhearts

Do Right Woman Do Right Man-Flying Burrito Brothers

I'm not posting the originals of the above songs because anyone with the slightest interest in soul music already knows who did them and what they sound like.

Nothin but a House Party-J. Geils Band

Original by The Showstoppers in 1969.

Turn on Your Lovelight-Grateful Dead (Live at the Fillmore West 2/28/1969)

IMO their definitive version of this was the one they played during their last set of shows at the Fillmore East in April 1971 but I can't find it on YouTube but this is my second favorite version I've heard them do.

Original by Bobby Blue Bland

Raise Your Hand-J. Geils Band

Original by Eddie Floyd

And to flip the coin over a soul cover of a rock song.

Slippery People-Staple Singers

Original by The Talking Heads
