The Warehouse on Tchoupitoulas Street was the main venue for rock music in New Orleans in the 70s. It opened on January 30, 1970 with Fleetwood Mac and the Grateful Dead and the last show was the Talking Heads in 1982, before it was demolished in 1989. The pavers out there make up every concert that was ever played there. My dad was a regular there and has dedicated many years to seeing that this monument to the classic venue got built! The warehouse monument is located at 1475 Tchoupitoulas St. at Race St. in NOLA.

That’s always blown my mind too. My dad also created a collage of all the acts that had ever performed there and his poster is in the Cleveland Rock n Roll hall of fame

What was the capacity?
I saw Emerson, Lake, and Palmer and Boz Scaggs there in the early 70s.

Proud to say I passed out at this legendary place a time or two.
