Been listening to him a lot lately, my cousin showed me his stuff around a year ago, and at first I was put off by the whole ‘country rapper’ thing, but once I dove into him, he’s got so much more to offer than that. He raps, sings, does country songs, some rock and roll, etc… I honestly think he’s become one of my favorite music artists of all time. He just checks a lot of boxes for me.
Growing up, I listened to all the popular rap music. Cash money, TI, Jeezy, Rick Ross, etc…. But as I got older I felt out of place listening to this style of gangster rap so I’ve been looking for a new ‘style’ of music but wasn’t really into the whole fabricated ‘bro country’ scene
Anyways, for those of you who aren’t familiar I’ll post a few different songs of his that I like. If y’all are fans, post your favorite songs from him
Country:
Real Country
A Little While (ft Clay Walker)
The Other Country Boy
Trade Gettin Drunk
Campfire Cologne ***one of my favorites for the hunting camp***
Buzz Won’t Last
Outlaw Classics
Radio Jam
Some rap songs:
He remade Reba’s ‘lights went out in Georgia’ and it’s fantastic
The Night the Lights Went Out in Georgia
Norman Baits
There’s more but I get the feeling this board will like his country songs better

Probably some of the worst music to be put out today. Pandering garbage that is directed at people who have no musical talent and want to hear lyrics about what they are currently drinking with no complexity whatsoever. To each his own.

Modern country is made for lowest common denominator yokels. Total posers.

Wait, are you saying Upchurch is “modern” country??

Who? Never heard of him.

First indy artist to have number one albums in three genres.
Love most of his stuff. Find him funny. Hick Hop has a huge underground following.
Wife and I hung out with him at Soul Kitchen Mobile after a show and then again the next night in Pensacola after a show at Vinyl Music Hall. Very funny guy and not a snob at all.

Glad I found someone here who also likes him
I get that country music these days and especially country ‘rap’ gets a bad name, but I’d wager that the people in this thread who were trashing him didn’t bother to listen to any of his songs
I like what Upchurch stands for. He’s unsigned and refuses to sign with a record label because he doesn’t want to get railroaded into doing everything they want him to. Like the situation with him and Luke Combs. Like did a song with church, and when they shot the music video for it, combs was playing a guitar that had a tiny rebel flag sticker on it. So of course when the video hit YouTube and people saw that his record label made him come out with some lame arse staged apology that was beyond fake. That’s not Upchurch and that’s not who he is. He stood his ground and to me, in this day and age, that was refreshing.
I guess my support of Upchurch goes beyond his music
A little on the situation between him and Combs:
LUKE COMBS APOLOGY
UPCHURCH’S REPONSE
^ please watch

I listened to the links you provided and I think it's horrendous. If you like it that's great though. Listen to whatever the hell makes you happy.

Something Something Pond Creek Road.....
frick Luke Combs
frick Ryan Upchurch
frick Ashland City
He is such a huge douche bag. I didnt mind some of his music until I spent some time with him because of a buddy that went to high school with him.
He's such an insecure turd that he will get online and confront anyone that doesnt like the "music" that he releases.
Nashville doesnt ignore him because he is some sort of outlaw. They ignore him because his music is an affront to the senses.

What? I’ve never seen this. Show me please
All BS aside, I just browsed his Instagram page and I don’t see one single video of him calling out anybody that doesn’t like his music.

He sent his fans to attack Grady Smith on YouTube last year because Grady said his song wasn’t good. It’s well known he’s incredibly insecure and uses his Fanbase to attack people who don’t like his music.

All of this.
His music is so bad it makes me hate the entire concept of music.
