After almost giving up on Sirius/XM for numerous reasons, one of which was the death of both Classic College Radio and The Loft, I stumbled upon Indie 1.0. This is what I always thought First Wave should be, plus newer songs that fit more in the college chart area than New Wave. It's only available through the app though which is pretty disappointing.

Is it all good? Nope. I suffered through a pretty bad stretch this weekend, but it does have some pretty fantastic runs at times. Here is how they describe it,

quote:

The first generation of Indie Rock from college radio graduates like Pavement, Joy Division and Pixies to the early cult classics from groundbreaking artists like The Strokes, Arcade Fire and The White Stripes.

So, while you may here the same artists that appear on First Wave and Lithium, the list is much deeper and you will not just hear Feel The Pain from Dino, or Backwater from Meat Puppets.

I just recently (as in the last year or so) started listening to XMU. How do you compare the two stations?

Can you tell me a little more about The Loft?

XMU is way more current. I don't find the two to be all that similar. The Loft is difficult to describe. The things I like there tend to be Folk, Americana and Alt. Country.

From XM:
quote:

Artists You'll Hear
Bob Dylan, The Rolling Stones, Ryan Adams, Tom Waits, Lucinda Williams, Beatles, Warren Zevon, NRBQ, Neko Case, Beck
