Best Options for Parking Smoothie King Center

What are my best options for parking? I will be visiting family in BR and will be coming to a game. I know every city has their little known spots that you can walk and save some $$$. Curious if anyone had some tips?

We park at a garage on Lasalle. When you come up Poydras, instead of taking a right on Lasalle to go around the back of the Superdome for parking, you take the left on Lasalle and there is a garage right there (it's on your right after you take that left onto Lasalle. It's not cheaper (I think it was around $18), but we usually find a spot on the bottom level right when we pull in, and it takes just a minute or two to leave the lot after the game.

I park on Roman street on LSUHSC campus. It can get a little shady at the "Endzone" but I've never experienced trouble. (I typically walk one block over to the street that runs parallel to Claiborne then walk toward Poydras)

Thanks for all the responses. I'll be in town in March then moving to BR in May for work. I've figured out all the spots here in Nashville on where to park for free for games, and it looks like I have a few leads to explore for games in New Orleans as well.
Do all these suggestions hold true for Saints games? Find street parking? I know sometimes street parking can be restricted on certain days etc.
Thanks again everyone.

It'll be much harder to find spots during saints games.

I usually get to the arena at about 5:30 and park literally on Loyola, across the street from the Hyatt. I pay 1.50 at the meter and go to the game.

Under the claiborne overpass. Its free, always has space, and about a 5 min walk.

Perfect I was surveying the area on google today and that seemed like a decent spot. Can you recommend somewhere close to GPS to that Claiborne overpass?

Also is there a certain time the meter readers are out til in Nola? I know in Nasvhille if you are at a meter after 6 or weekend, they don't check.

Want directions instead?
If you are coming from the west, take I-10 until it turns into 90 i.e. dont take I-10 to slidell.
Stay in one of the leftmost two lanes until past this split. The first exit will be for the superdome. Ignore that. Take the next exit for loyola. Taking this exit requires you to switch into a lane on the right that is also a ramp for vehicles entering onto 90 (weave segment). So take the loyola exit down the ramp and get in the left lane. You will now be on Earhart. Right before you get to the first light, there is a U turn that you should take. As you take the U-turn, get into the right lane. The left lane is an on ramp, the middle and right lanes continue straight on earhart. Drive down to the intersection of S. Claiborne and Earhart. Take a right into the lot. I usually park somewhere under the overpass or along the side of the street, but you can also park in this gravel and dirt lot that will be on the right. But it gets pretty flooded sometimes. This is faster if uptown is effed.
Alternatively, you can take I-10 to the carrolton exit and then take a left onto earhart, drive down earhart to the same intersection and take a left into it. This is faster if the interstate is effed.
Try like 2849 earhart for an address. Idk
Its pretty legit because sometimes you have homeless people to watch over your vehicle. But forreal, I park there all the time and theres enough people that park there that I feel pretty safe. Then you just walk up these steps to this pedestrian bridge. Then you can either hop over the barrier and cross the street (i dont do this) or follow the path between this fenced in parking lot and the barrier (i do this) and you come out at a much safer place to cross the street. You will have to walk over some planks if there are puddles. Its fun

Parking on the street across from the Energy building works too.

Actually, depending upon when you look (say, 5:30-6:00pm), many times you can find street parking within five or six blocks (or less) from the SKC. Poydras, Baronne, Carondelet, Rampart, O'Keefe, etc.
