I don't get it. Since he's left Denver, he's been mediocre at best. 20mil is an overpay and now extending him? He's inclined to opt in, I don't see a team offering him more than maybe 3/40 at best. He's 28 today.

He doesn’t have a player option. I assume the hope is that you can get him to sign a Herb type deal, which would make him easily tradeable

He looked good in Indiana before he had a lingering knee injury towards the end of last season with toronto and had a procedure in the offseason that put him out for the first two months of the season.

If he's fully healthy, he can be a quality vet rotational player that can start in spurts. I'm not against it as long as he plays well here and he doesn't break the bank.

But we'll need to bring in a guy who can start while Murray is out regardless. That'll be hard to find and sign.

I mean, it makes perfect sense for both sides to view the rest of the season as a tryout to see how he fits with Zion, Trey, and and the rest of the team.

Ahh, my mistake --- it was Olynyk with the with the 1yr/13.5mil left too.

Can't remember where the player option came in, must be one of the other transactions across the league yesterday and I mistakenly thought it was.

Agreed if the value is better than not a bad option, but I'm not sure he's the guy you want to overpay for as a backup. Can't shoot well enough to be a true 3&D SG. Also a bit undersized.

I mean if he would take an MLE level deal then sure. He’s a good role player with championship experience. We can’t really afford to pay him more than that

I think this is the 1st trade that I am not going to notice any players missing. Just new players.
