I’m going to get downvoted for this but I think BI is owed a 1 time pass.

I know he’s very polarizing with our fanbase right now and Tuesday was a really terrible look for BI, especially when he’s due for a max deal. Then I kind of look in the mirror and who hasn’t had one of those moments where they were just a complete dick? For his entire time here though he’s been the consummate pro improving every year. I think he just had a bunch of shite hit him at once and he handled it poorly. Coming off an injury where he’s rushing back (he’s clearly not 100%) but it’s playoff time so he wanted to be on the floor. Then he had 2 bad games in his return that culminated in Willie sitting him the last 7 minutes Tuesday and he got in his feelings and poured instead of being there for his team. I’m sure he regrets it, he’s a universally liked guy and I think he has a good game Friday. Wether that is enough for a W who knows but it’s hard for me to hold Tuesday against him after we have dealt with so much worse from Zion over the years and stuck with him. I’m not saying pay him the max either, just that it’s not fair to judge him off the last 2 games.

It’s not about Tuesday. He’s not a good fit next to Zion, and there are guys we could potentially trade for that would be better fits

It’s about both but more importantly the fit AND the contract situation

Management asked CJ to change his game and shoot more threes, which he did gladly. Do you honestly think they’ve haven’t asked BI to shoot more 3s?

Not saying he’s a good fit either, just that he’s a much better player than people give him credit for. This year has been the 1st year where I’ve seen him put it all together on offense, rebounding and playing solid defense for a guy not known for defense. His passing is what has improved most though. He’s a fantastic facilitator when he’s going good. As far as trades I’m always open to making the Pels better but you have to find the right trade partner which isn’t easy. It’s going to be hard to keep Trey Murphy from eventually taking that starting SF spot though.

BI been here 5 seasons helping build this team. He ALWAYS worked his butt off and had a positive attitude! ALWAYS a team guy!
HE HAS PUT A LOT INTO THIS TEAM AND WANTS TO BE ON THE COURT TO CONTRIBUTE. Dude can play. Very unique skill set.

Mark my words…..He about to show all y’all Friday.

I hope you’re right. We are going to have to have a big game from him to beat Sacramento without Zion. They are going to come out trying to prove they can beat us. Willie better leave Jonas in to take care of Sabonis.

Very few people have said he's not a good player. A few days ago On/Off numbers for the Big 3 were posted and any 2 of the Big 3 together were positive, but all 3 of the Big 3 together on the court was a net negative. So even if BI leads the Pels past the first round, that still doesn't solve the problem of this core having fit issues.

Except for Tuesday night he didn’t seem so positive about being benched. So technically not ALWAYS.

Mobley/Allen, LaVine/DeRozen, and Trae/Murray. Forcing fit rarely works and we've been doing this for 5 years now and they still have issues fitting their games together.

At some point, you accept that you're losing a really good player in order to build a better team.

I love BI, I was one of the ones who wanted to keep him honestly. We are a net negative with that lineup. Also seeing the growth of Murphy and us desperate needing other pieces, we have to move on and not pay Ingram 40+ a year. He’s not worth that.

You know one thing we haven’t dealt with from Zion?

Supporting his teammates.

Whether he was injured on the bench or just straight up benched by Willie in the 4th (this happened a couple times this year) he was still always up and always supporting everyone even of he may not have been happy

I can get on board with this take. He’s had a couple games to shake off the rust which should be enough for an elite player at the end of the season.

He can earn immediate redemption with a big game Friday.

Will be telling.

The dude usually takes 2 weeks to shake off rust. Lets see if 2 games is enough.

I hear you, can really get pretty toxic around here, but what does he need a pass for? Came back from injury and hasn't played well. What am I missing, did he kick a puppy?

Why are some of yall so attached to this core?

There is always a "yea, but next year..." attached to this team. The break out and gelling together may not ever happen. By the time you are waiting for these guys to all collectively figure it out the window to make some noise will have long passed.

I too have often though "yea, but what if" each year. Reality has to set in that this team is just not as good as we think they are. Which is a shame, because its easily the most talent we have had since CP, west and company

Clutching my Pearls .... Some of you all got this faux outrage thing down pat, use it pretty selectively too. He had a bad game, coach sat him down, he was pissed, and Pels play again Friday for an opportunity to make the playoffs.
