Probably has a team option for next season in case we need a small salary to use in a trade.

He wouldnt be the contract we are using in a trade.

no one would want to admit it but he is a better player than jose on this team

Elfrid's a turnover machine and can't shoot, but props to him for playing okay within his limitations. If he can be the 5th option on the court that's okay considering defense and vision. I'll take Jose all day.

What are you talking about? He had a nearly 3:1 Assist:Turnover ratio with the Pels and his career numbers are just a little under that.

I think you need both because neither is a complete player. And to start the year you likely have them trying to fill in for Murray.

As fun as it’s been to watch EP play lead guard this year, he’s not getting this role when everyone is healthy. He may be the best pure traditional PG in the NBA and he’s not even rostered most of the time.

Great move and well deserved. He has the second unit humming on offense.

Great deal. If Jose gets traded in the offseason I’m perfectly fine with Payton running the 2nd team PG.

Fair/valid point

Yes, he's had many assists with a remarkable 13.9 per 36 minutes, well above anyone on the team but...
He's still been a turnover machine with 5.1 turnovers per 36 minutes, and that's awful. Jose's at 2.2. People thought Dejounte had many turnovers and he and Zion were 3.8.
Both individual rates are out of line with career rates, but if we look at assist rate to turnover rate he's at 2.7 this year compared to career 2.6
The conclusion is that Elfrid is the same guy he's been good entire journeyman career but that on the Pels obliterated roster he's had to handle the ball more so he's had more opportunities to do good and bad.
Jose's career assist rate to turnover rate is 3, and he's a better shooter, and I believe he's 5 years younger. Both Jose and Elfrid have roles in the league and both are competent to come off the bench, but I prefer Jose's production, age, and intangibles.
