Raise your hand if you think Zion is in good shape

Been seeing a lot of posters lately talking about Zion being in better shape. Dude subbed back in with 4 minutes left in the game and was immediately sucking wind. Pacers targeted him on every possession because he could barely move.

We're 75% done with the season and the guy still looks like the fat kid in gym class. I honestly just laugh at him now to avoid getting pissed off.

Thank you for attending my monthly Pels Talk therapy session.

In better shape than the start of the season but not in good shape.

I kind of was with you until you said this. When people start going extreme like this- its just nonsensical.

I don’t think anybody’s claim that he’s in elite shape. He’s in better shape than he has been previously and is approaching league average at least.

You have to give him somewhat of a break tonight, considering it’s his fifth game in seven days and the whole airplane landing at 5 AM thing

By the standard of an elite athlete I don’t think that’s hyperbolic at all. He’s literally grabbing his shorts 2 minutes after subbing into the game. It’s a joke.

I believe Zion is in great shape. Most guys would kill to be as jacked and explosive as he is right now. He's definitely dropped some weight and leaned out a bit through the season.

The crux is and always will be that he's not built for the sport he plays. He's too heavy. It's amazing to watch a big guy do what he does. But it's not sustainable. It's just a matter of time. I just hope he is able to do something special in the short window he has..

He’s taken his conditioning about as seriously as I’m taking my Pels fandom. We’re both in it mostly for the lulz.

Like clockwork. Another loss another ignorant take to blame either Zion or BI depending on the mood.

My brother whether we had won or lost last night does not change the fact that Z is still huffing and puffing after a few possessions and completely gave up even trying to defend in the last few minutes.

Man forget Duke Zion, I was watching some highlights from his 2nd season and he's not even at that level.

His number show it too. He's still efficient but slightly less so.

He has always been in shape.

Mostly that shape has just been a round one. Definitely looks better lately than he has in the past.

I don’t understand how it’s controversial to say he’s still in bad shape. On most nights he’s the most out of shape player on the floor for either team and it’s painfully obvious.

People are blinded by his explosive moments but the guy conserves as much energy on defense than 41 year old Lebron.

Both can be true in this instance. He's in better shape than he was coming into the season but he's still not where he needs to be in order to be dominate.

It's unfortunate that he's only in good enough shape to show flashes of it but not good enough shape to do it night in and night out. We've pretty much lowered our standards to the point where many of us would be happy he make it to April and May.

Yet hes also our best player and its painfully obvious. I think you conveniently leave that out.

I didn’t think I had to state the obvious. That’s the whole reason it’s frustrating. He may be our best player but he’ll never take us anywhere unless he gets back close to Duke Zion shape.

So playoffs and 50 win season isn’t anywhere? Ok.

In fairness, he hasn't done either of those things in 5 years, and neither of those are guaranteed right now, 60 games into the season

True but lets see if that changes the narrative probably not. We’ll lose a second round playoff series and it’ll be Zion is out of shape.
