Sorry Herb. You're a monster on defense but Zion needs space and you can't shoot.

Need to trade BI and give Trey his role. Herb is still valuable as a starter.

No, the obvious answer is CJ. He’s the perfect 6th. man. This is where a coach earns his stripes, convincing him to buy in.

Idk how anybody can watch the last year or so of Pelicans basketball and think Trey + BI doesn’t work

Who plays point guard? Herb/BI/Zion by committee?

We’re trying to get more spacing around Zion and you want to bench a 44% three point shooter?

You start

CJ
Trey
BI
Zion
JV

Off the bench you bring in Herb and Dyson and Naji and completely shut down other team’s bench units

It’s actually gross and we should absolutely do it

Yeah that ain't the answer.

With trey cj and Ingram and Val you can run some really crazy 5 out sets that would confuse the shite out of ppl

I’ll admit I’m a bit of a BI hater in the sense that I think the way he plays basketball is not conducive to championship contention. I think the haul you could get for him combined with our current roster would put us in a better position to compete with the best of the best.

Very unlikely they make cj 6th man.

Herb being the odd man out makes the most sense

Starters:
CJ
Trey
BI
Zion
JV

And then if you want to play small ball you can make Trey the 5 and slide Herb back into the 2

Same as the Pels are currently running.

You replace a 44% three-point shooter with another 44% shooter (Trey) and bring the 44% shooter (CJ) who can create his own offense (something that TM3 doesn't do as well at this point of his career).

The beauty of Trey is that he doesn't need the ball in his hands to create offense. CJ is more valuable where he can come off the bench and be the focal point of the second-line.

No. You need cj playmaking with the starting unit. Zion Ingram and cj can create.

I cannot stress how lethal you need a starting lineup to be in the NBA.

I'd rather have the two 44% shooters playing alongside Zion.

For sure, but we are talking best fit. Zion and BI create offense and Trey provides a different kind of spacing (25+ feet out). CJ gets his off the dribble, that is kind of redundant when BI and Zion are on the floor. Also, BI, Zion, CJ, Val and Trey get cooked defensively.

The offensive rating of a

CJ
Trey
BI
Zion
JV

Lineup SHOULD be 150+ if they figure out the offensive responsibilities and hierarchy correctly

I don’t give a shite if the defense isn’t that good that offense’s PPP will be ridiculous

Willie has his faults, but he seems to be able to put out an above average defense regardless of who is out there.

Also I’m just gonna say it, CJ’s shots need to come down a little and Trey’s need to go up they should average around the same FGA per game, if not Trey should average more
