This seemed like a weird 1st round draft to me.

Saints pick, felt like that Christmas present you were hoping to get , ends up being socks.??

Basically thinking " Oh, ok. I did actually need these"

What are your thoughts?

There’s lots of very good receivers and running backs. There’s only a few very good lineman. The draft isn’t over.

We filled a huge need and he has been flying up boards in the last week. Keep in mind that 2 of our assistant coaches coached at Texas and were probably able to give a lot of feedback on him.

This draft had lots of DT, RB, TE, and WRs.
It was thin at OT, OG, DE, LB, CB/S, and QB.

We walked away with one of the best 3 OTs and can still nab one of the top CBs in Round 2, TEs and RBs in round 3

Very happy with kelvin banks. I like him better than Campbell. Idk much about Membou to be honest. Not sexy but I love the pick. . Really hope we can snag burden in round 2. Or will Johnson.

This is a good point.

I was fine with anyone that wasn’t a QB in the 1st round.

The last we need is Kellen being handcuffed by a miss in 1st round on the most important position.

Build it and he will come.

Building for next year. Whoever the QB will be in 2026 will have at least a top 15 line.

Was it a "flashy" pick? No. Was it a position of need? Yes. Kellen Moore knows how effective the offense can be behind a good OL.

There really were no huge "flash" picks in the first round. A lot of analysts are grading Jags pick of Hunter as one of the better picks. It all depends on how they use him but I don't see him as great player.

I think the Saints pick was fine. If they could have found a team that wanted to trade up and they get more picks, that would have been ideal.

Terry Fontenot definitely pulled a loomis there in the back end of the first round for the falcons.

Our OL needed help. We drafted help.
Can't have a good qb, rb , or wr without a good OL.

I wouldn't be surprised if we go OL again in the 2nd round

Filled a need with a guy who has been considered a top 15 pick since the draft process started. Oline is never sexy but it’s needed.

Doesn’t seem weird at all since the Saint typically go for trenches early in the draft. I do not deny I thought and had hoped this year would be different but it tells me they think the draft is Dee at skill position and defense.

I’m good with it but curious to know where Banks plays. He has the ability to play inside and out on the line and I hope they mix and match in OTAs and camp to find the best possible combinations. I’m not convinced Penning can move inside.

We got a good player at a position of need. What’s not to like?

I really wanted Walker and I hate that he went to atl. But we need so much talent at so many positions that I’m just glad we took a really good player and didn’t reach for a project or expend draft capital to move up.

Unless you have a good front wall WR's and RB's won't shine.
Build the Wall.

I'm pleasantly surprised any time the Saints don't do something monumentally stupid.

With Atlanta landing Jalon Walker and James Pearce JR, Mickey and Kellen are looking more like geniuses for grabbing Banks.

The Saint are going to see a lot of pressure on whoever is QBing this team.

Just happy we didn’t make a reach for a QB at 9!

O line picks are boring but we need those guys so it is what it is. Think it was a safe play to start the draft.
