Everyone is clamoring for OL or pass rusher, but NT is probably our biggest hole on the defense, so I don't see how we can go thru the first 3 rounds without taking one.

I know we have holes everywhere, but we don't have one guy that's a starting caliber NT for Staley's 3-4. If you're gonna trade up for someone, make it a starter and not a project QB (Dart).

This is the deepest interior DL draft of our lifetime so I'm fairly sure with 6 picks in the first four rounds they will make it happen personally

You can get a quality nose tackle later. A lot harder to find edge/OL in the later rounds.

Like another posted said, this is the deepest DL draft in awhile. Kellen Moore has probably learned from Philadelphia that trading down in the first round and accumulating picks is the way to go. If they do trade, it is to trade down. I think they can get a very good DL in the first if they trade down from 9.

If they trade up, all should be fired. There is no one they need they can't get at 9. If they select a QB at 9, they should all be fired.

You’re assuming we are running a traditional 3-4. Nobody has said that. And I think we’ve had threads that detail out that he has used a multiple front defense, not your traditional 3-4. So you might be starting with a flawed presumption.

We also signed Davon Godchaux this offseason. He’s your DT/NT if we don’t draft one.

Even if we were going to a 3-4, you need multiple pass rushers, DE/OLB and only 1 or 2 stout interior DT/NT. We don’t have any pass rushers at the moment as Young and Granderson are just guys. Hence, we have more need in numerical terms for pass rushers.

I’m not disagreeing totally, and I’d be happy if we took Graham early or got a guy like Collins, Harmon of Farmer later. But our need for pass rushers is greater than our need for DT IMO.

NT is a position that tends to fall in the Draft, unless they’re athletic enough to play the 3 Tech as well, which is rare. Kenneth Grant may be our top option at the position, may be available in the 2nd round for us.

There will also be nice options in the mid and probably late rounds of this draft. It’s loaded at the position this year.

Unless it's one named Mason Graham at 9 you can get one in the later rounds that will be just as good as one not named Mason Graham.

The “need” conversation is silly with these threads. The truth is your needs are based on the most valuable and important positions. Wr or corner is not the biggest need in this team. Qb, pass rusher, DT, LG are all major needs. Theres a ton of Dt this year so I’d love for us to grab a guy like Alfred collins later in the 3rd or so

It was my #1 need until we got Godchaux. Is he some world beater? No, but he's a competent player.

It drives our need down because we have so many desperate needs that even an average player filling a spot moves it way down the list
