An irony about the phony racism claims regarding Sanders slide....

I think the comparison that might be better as a cautionary tale to GMs is Johnny Manziel. The level of arrogance was at the same level although Manziel won a lot more games in a tougher conference. The I and me and keeping the party rolling were more important than the team.
There is also a level of insult to folks like Cam Ward, Bryce Young and other black quarterbacks recently drafted in the first round, As if they were not also confident young black men,

The Ward and Milroe picks completely destroy that bullshite

Yea milroe going ahead of him ends any racism claims.
There’s obviously a lot more to the sanders story that the NFL is keeping wrapped up. I know it’s been reported he was a train wreck in interviews with the saints and I’m sure others.

There’s confidence and then there’s boisterous delusional arrogance that could poison your football team and set it back a decade.
If Sanders was some kind of generational talent that was as close to a “no miss” prospect as a QB can feasibly get, he’d have been drafted already and whatever team had him would have to invest more in keeping him from becoming a cancer, but he would likely be worth it.
It appears that the sad truth is that he isn’t anywhere near good enough (even potentially) to convince an NFL franchise to pick him at a (so far) top 3 round price tag.
None of what was just said above has the first thing to do with the color of his skin

This is so stupid. Young and CJ went 1 and 2 and AR went 4. Caleb and Daniel's went 1 and 2. Ward went 1 this year. Color has nothing to do with this idiot not being drafted.

Yeah, when all else fails pull that card.

You guys aren't understanding why they are claiming racism. It's not as simple as just skin color.
Obviously the NFL is full of African Americans. But the claim of racism is that he's not the right kind of African-American. He's confident, arrogant, brash, in your face. And the NFL is rejecting that black man. That's the claim of racism.
For the record, I don't necessarily agree with that. But just claiming that it can't be racist because of skin color is missing the point.

1) are there no guys like that in the NFL?
2) Have white dudes never dropped due to character concerns?
Generally the more talented a player is the more arrogance a team will put up with. Couple that with qb needy teams passing on the tremendous advantage a good player on a 3rd round rookie contract would provide cap wise and it’s pretty clear…they just don’t think he’s very good.

I'm not saying I disagree with you or agree with a claim of racism. I don't.
I'm just telling you that is the lens through which people are seeing racism. "The NFL is a plantation and you have to be a certain way to be invited in."

There's confident, then there's arrogant. Burrow was confident. It appears Sanders is arrogant. I'm sure Ward was confident. Sanders is arrogant. There is nothing, absolutely nothing about his skin that they care about. Hell, Anthony Richardson got drafted last year or whenever. Milroe got drafted. It's about him personally.
And by all appearances, not just arrogance--blind, baseless arrogance. Delusion.
Those crying can spin the complaint however they want, but reality is they're just pulling the race card when their media darling character bombed himself.

So was Deion. But Deion was a generational talent that had measurables to make him one of the greatest to ever line up at CB with athletic ability to also make him a dangerous punt returner and a halfway decent baseball player. That didn’t seem to bother anyone.
Remember Colorado is retiring Shadeur’s number. They didn’t win anything of note, didn’t win a championship of any kind, nor even a bowl game despite having their entire team not opt out after going 4-7 his first year despite the media telling everyone they were great after they beat TCU early.
If his last name was Saunders instead of Sanders we wouldn’t be having this conversation because he wouldn’t be in consideration for anything.

Remember the same bull shite was thrown out there when the Giants selected Jones before Hawkins. Hawkins was an immediate bust before his tragic death. At least Jones started 3 years for the Giants even though never worth a shite

quote:this sounds like a complete stupid line of bullshite. Oh my God no it’s not fair. A black man can’t be arrogant if he’s too arrogant and people push back. It’s a racist. What a fricking load of shite.
