1. New Orleans Saints: Garrett Nussmeier, QB, LSU
The Saints have no choice but to finally embrace the tank, which would get them the local star from LSU, Garrett Nussmeier, whose father Doug happens to be New Orleans' offensive coordinator. Garrett had a solid first season as a full-time starter replacing Jayden Daniels, showing off his strong, accurate arm and gunslinger mentality. He can throw into tight windows and connect on deep crossers with ease. Nussmeier will be in the mix to be QB1 in 2026's draft and right now I have him winning the two-horse battle with Drew Allar.

If we suck as bad as I think we will suck, we will get either Nussmeier or Manning.

If we got the number one pick in the draft and sucked that bad and ended up with Garrett fricking Nussmeier I may be done

ETA: to all the downvoters what on the hell has Nussmeier shown to warrant being a franchise 1.1 NFL QB? The dude went to pieces at the slightest sign of adversity multiple times, is often inaccurate just cranking the ball to the sidelines, scans the field poorly, refuses to take wide open green grass in front of him.

Seriously where are the 1.1 attributes?

We are tanking. Call it what you want, that’s what’s happening. That’s why we reached on a Banks. It’s a safety net pick for the future. Wouldn’t be surprised if we draft another OL soon. No we aren’t purposely trying to lose games but we will lose games. We are maybe the 3rd best team in a poor division. Every move now needs to be for the future.

Which Loomis will immediately trade away for peanuts or use to draft a long snapper.

I agree we’ll be picking top 3, but Loomis should not be near the decision process if our record has us picking that early.

There’s a post on this board right now detailing that the raiders were going to draft Banks at 6 if Jeanty wasn’t available

Embrace the tank!

If the Saints can get QB1 in next year’s draft, they’ll be set for a while

I like Nuss, but I dont see him as a 1.1 type of guy. I dont know if he will even be a great pro, hes got the talent, but he has a ton of flaws too. Nuss would have to improve a ton for me to think thats a good pick. I know my opinion means jack shite tho.

He's definitely leaps and bounds better than anyone in this draft. I'd bet the Mannings will push Arch to return to Austin if he's not projected #1 overall. If he is, they'll try to dictate where he goes, and I doubt they want him here. So it's either Nuss, Klubnik, or Allar at that point... All better than the top QBs in this class.

Kiwihead has already declared next year's qb draft class shite so no need to draft any qb.... we actually should trade next year's 1st to somehow jump back in the first round yesterday today to draft Shadeur since he is obviously the 2nd coming of Brees, Brady, Mahomes and Montana combined.
