Idk if Dart will be any good or not, but I don't really have an issue picking him at 9 if that's what the new coach wants. If you REALLY think he's your guy, why frick around trying to trade back into the 20s and miss out. If you're convinced he's an NFL starter that fits your system, that's worth the #9 pick.

When these reports come out it tells me the Saints are trying to force others to trade up ahead of them to take this particular player so that their more preferred guy drops down to them.

If the Saints take a qb in the first I see it being Dart over Shedeur. Dart just fits better the qb’s Moore has experience with.

meh, i feel all the smoke about shedeur and the o line and d line and all that crap was the smoke. Dart makes too much sense to be worried about getting some other prospect to drop just cause you building up a qb you love.

I will say that regardless of what the Saints wind up doing, they have played the pre-draft process very well. No one has any damn idea what it is they are going to do or even a consensus of what player we like the most.
Hell, Mickey has people believing we are looking to trade down and then trade back up in the 1st. Maybe they hate all the QBs and just want to spook someone into jumping them to get a QB so that a guy the really want drops.

Maybe they love Dart and maybe they don't. Revealing to everyone the day of the draft that he's your guy is not smart if you plan to draft him. Say what you will about Loomis, the one thing he excels at is trade negotiations and gamesmanship. This reeks of them trying to get the Giants to select him at 3, have another team jump us for him or maybe even target us for a trade back (doubtful with Loomis' track record).
Then again Mickey also traded a week prior to the draft recently to acquire a 1st to hopefully be able to grab players that may drop to us. That was stupid maneuvering. Maybe he is just foolishly telegraphing who they want
