What a tragic bust for 2 first round draft picks.

Can’t get on the field in New Orleans then leaves for the Vikings …..and only starts 4 games per 17 game schedule.

Signs with Detroit… begins this upcoming season injured on the PUP List….injured BEFORE training camp !!

What a waste of talent.

Truly sad. Davenport had all the talent in the world to be all pro. His size/strength/speed combo can't be taught. He just can't stay on the field or in the right head space.

Sad thing is we have the discount Davenport in Peyton Turner. Not as talented, but more oft injured.

The guy never loved football and we knew it when we drafted him but because of his size they still took him. Keeping him over Hendrickson will go down as one of the worst moves in the history of the NFL.

At least it’s now down to 2 first round picks. Although still incorrect I’ve read on here that he cost us 3 first round picks more than once by multiple people. So, we’re improving.

Yet arguing they didn't spend 2 1sts on him is simply trying to be argumentative for the sake of being argumentative. You know what they meant and why they are taking that stance.

How else do you explain the Saints trading their 27th overall pick in 2018, 5th round pick in 2018, and their 2019 1st rounder for the 14th overall pick so they could get Davenport.

Agree 100%.
I still don’t understand why people neglect to call out that the Saints still used one of those picks in 2018. They just were able to pick @ 14 vs their original position @ 27.
The only picks lost were the 5th rounder in 2018 and a 1st in 2019.

What’s worse… is around pick 27 there were multiple great players on the board:Lamar, Calvin Ridley, Dj Moore, Rashad Penny, etc.
Also a solid swing at least in the 1st though there were a lot of whiffs in the late 1st for 2019…
