Spending a pick (any pick) in this draft on a QB is a very stupid idea. We're stuck with the Carr money. The QB class is way down. We desperately need help all over the field. Draft best available, or best at any position of need, aside from QB. We're gonna suck again next year. Draft one once you have the talent to support him (or her, I don't assume gender).

i'm totally fine if they identify a prospect that they like of sorts at whatever round they deem of value.

Carr is a gonner at whatever point shortly and may not ever suit up again for us.

Rattler is a decent question mark with some skill sets.

Haener is small in stature and we could be closing the books on moving on sooner than later.

Spending a pick at the most important position in football on a guy that they identify with some sort of set of tools that they think can be of value or even grow or develop or fits the system either as a backup or maybe a 10% chance he can develop into a starter is in no way dumb.

Definitely a way to look at it. I see it as dumb because I think we need way more help than just a QB right now. Not saying they took one that it wouldn't be possible to hit on one, I just think it's a waste this year when next years class looks even better. I know Carr is never playing here again, but I would rather take other positions and ride it out with Rattler this year.

If we knew for sure that next year's class would be better AND we would be picking high enough to get one of the better QBs, I may agree. However, there is no way to know either for certain.

Carr and Haener should be gone. I'd roll with Rattler and build the rest of the team. I'd consider Milroe in the 2nd and try to use him like Taysom but he's years away from being a starting QB if ever.

Haener is absolutely garbage

If Carr doesn't play this year you have to take a QB somewhere in the draft. I didn't say take a QB at #9 but somewhere in the draft.

If Carr can play this year then i'm not taking a QB. Maybe sign one but not drafting one. This team has too many holes too fill.

Probably the only thing I'll ever agree with that comes out of Matt Mesconas mouth is the Saints should draft a QB every year (maybe two in some years) until they get it right.

Same thing is said every year. We’ve sat on our hands every year while a plethora of talented quarterbacks pass us bye. Maybe your right. Maybe all these quarterbacks suck but I don’t expect Kellen Moore to sit on his hands.

It would shock me more if they did not draft a QB in this draft than if they traded up to the #1 spot to draft Ward.

I don’t want them forcing it because in all likelihood we’ll be drafting high again next year and given this FO’s penchant for being stubborn, they’ll stick with a mediocre Dart due to sunk cost fallacy and pass on a prospect that would have been ranked well ahead of him if he were in this class.

I mean if you actually believe in Dart, shoot your shot…but if you pass on him at 9 and then trade back in to get him or another one of these QBs, I don’t like that rationale, especially if it costs you next year’s one.

You’re looking at it from the perspective that all the picks instead of a qb would hit though.

There is a ridiculous amount of combinations of current players and potential draft picks helping out the qb pick more or less than one another.

It’s not as near as use ____high picks on other positions, they work out, then draft other qb in future and he works out as well.

If they really think a guy can be made into a franchise guy then you have to get him in the building.

if Milroe is still there in the 3rd, take him, not as QB of the future, but just to piece together with Rattler. He could be good in situational use as well.

They don't believe this, so they would never follow the path you're laying out. And frankly, why should they? They hired a new coaching staff that they think are good, and they expect the roster to be pretty similar to last year but with less injuries. It's not crazy to think even if they aren't "good" that they could win 7 to 9 games next year, and then they're even farther from getting a QB than they are now.

QB is the hardest thing to find in the draft. I think you should draft at least 1 QB every draft.

Maybe not always use one of your tops picks on one.

But until you find "the one." Always take one year in and year out

This is a QUARTERBACK DRIVEN LEAGUE... You draft a QB..

You get one in first round every year til you find the right fit.

The draft is just a crap shoot anyway these days

This is why I didn't fault the Falcons for taking penix. And look how that worked out. Penix is going to be at least solid going forward imo.
