If the Saints don't go QB this draft, pick up Brady Cook as a UDFA.

If available.

Most projections have Brady Cook as a 7th rounder or UDFA. I just see a lot value as a UDFA. He is the second most athletic QB behind Jalen Milroe at this years NFL Combine and he has pretty good QB stats against top college football defenses.

literally anybody would be a better backup than Haener.

Yep. Cook was a solid SEC starter and piled up a bunch of points against some elite defenses as well as some crappy LSU defenses. If nothing else he’d have a high ceiling and could probably drive a better QB competition with rattler for the starting job next year.

If we don't draft one this year, we're drafting one next year so it doesn't matter much. Even if Cook is QB2 and gets some time, it won't be meaningful from a win column standpoint.

I'd be happy with Cook or Mccord as a 7th or UDFA
