It seems that Payton Turner has been standing out the past two days

Lots of reports on that. The question would be:

Is that a positive sign that Turner has finally figured it out and could be a force?

or

is the Offensive line just that bad?

Turner's worst ability is availability.

Agreed. When he was able to play last year- he played well. Hes becoming another Davenport.

He looks like he belongs when he's played. But he has less games than Penning. What will be interesting is if he balls out this year what do you do? Try a small extension to see more? Franchise him? Let him walk? Trade him mid season if he refuses extension?
It's his last year. And he plays like a starter and his healthy all year. Hmmmmmmm

Honestly to me it will be a decision between Turner and Chase this year. Whoever plays better you try to resign and the other guy can walk.

At this point you know what you have with him. if he stays healthy and balls out, it will be great but consider it an anomaly and move on. I'd rather give money to Chase young if he plays halfway decent than Turner regardless of how he plays.

Best case scenario is Foskey improves as well then you can let both young and Turner go and maybe also draft another DE next off season.

Apparently he trained with Terron Armstead a lot in the past few months. TA said that he sees a marked improvement in Turner’s game over the summer. I’ll reserve judgment for when we see him in action in actual gameplay.

He has always looked good when he is actually on the field, the issue is he is NEVER healthy.

That being said, PRAYING he has a full season and 10+ sacks so we can of course overpay him (honestly hope some team does it so we can get a 3rd round comp)

Well our o line was trash last year and we just lost our best o lineman for the year. So it’s possible

Same ole story for him though. Looks great in camp, gets injured early.

I've been reading how Chase Young looks so great but haven't seen that on Turner yet

Had these same reports last year, that he looked like a starter and was making plays. Then hurt.

I don’t think I could trust giving him a long term deal even if he broke out this year.

We don’t know what we have on the offensive line as yet… so I’m taking any Saint DL success with a grain of salt at this point.

Just glad Turner is still walking at this point.

That’s probably the high point of his career.

Gonna be a lot of panicked veteran OL signings after the last round of cuts, I’m thinking.
