AKA address lines at a higher rate than skill positions

Basically the same philosophy as Loomis.

This is the right mindset especially when you dont have your QB yet.

Put your money on an OL at 9.

He corrected himself to add Kellen Moore to that statement. He started out by saying "our philosophy...is to build inside out."

This is Loomis' show.

They’re not wrong but maybe it’s time we look at the person doing the evals because our ROI has been piss poor. Our skill positions need addressing are in poor shape too.

It’d be nice to have some cap space so we didn’t need to address all needs via draft…but well

Absolutely that's refreshing to hear because that is where you win games on the line.

The right thing to do for this draft is to trade back a bit then get a OL. OL is kinda iffy at the top. But knowing us, we are going to trade up to 7 and get an OL

It’s the right philosophy unless you do stupid shite like drafting Marcus Davenport and Payton Turner.

I don't mind this strategy at all as long as they are not upgrading positions that are ok to good at the expense of addressing holes in areas they are terrible at and have little to no talent.

That does not improve your team. That gives you a great player on a bad team.

i.e. Fragua and Penning are good enough tackles to get you through another year or so. IMO drafting a RT to upgrade Penning does not make your line better because you still have the same holes on the interior.

It doesn't really move the needle on your offense because you still have no WR1 or TE1 and no game changer weapon.

I'd rather see fill the gaping holes you have they tweek and upgrade positions your already good at to make them superior level.

This might be true, but why would Loomis announce this to everybody so close to the draft? Good chance it's meant to distract from what they're really going to do.

Gaping holes at RT, LG, and DE.

If you have a new coach, staff and scheme coming in along with a weak QB room I think it best to start building a great defense. It will win you more games in the short and long term.

But we really don't have gaping holes at RT and DE just because you don't like Penning and Young/Granderson.

We do have gaping holes at LG, TE and WR

we don't even have a gaping hole at LG, we signed a 17 game starter. He may be below average starter but it doesn't leave the gaping hole we previously had.

Taysom determines how gaping the TE position is.

I'd say we have a need for a WR that fits a protype but cooks, olave, and shaheed plus whatevers is not necessarily a gaping need, but there's still a need to a degree.

That's speculation because we have need nothing from this guys in the system.

Taysom is 35 years old coming off a major knee injury at the end of last season. Him playing in 2025 is speculation, Even Loomis said we'll see, its a major injury.

What you're going to get out of this WR room is speculation, You hope Olave and Shaheed and return to form from injury shortened season but what are you really counting on? Cooks? A bunch of journeymen and 2nd years players? C'mon, it's a fact we do not have #1 WR and it remains to be seen if we have a true #2 that can stay healthy.

I know everyone looks at it differently but these are the facts. Maybe it all works out good, but the Saints don't have a good track record of things working out good for them in the medical department if you hadn't noticed.

Absolutely is the right thinking. But Saints gonna draft Shamar Stewart because of his RAS score and pass up talented game breakers. I want a Warren or Jeanty. We need dynamic playmakers on this team badly

Assuming Campbell and Graham are gone. You’ll probably be deciding between Mykel Williams, Jalon Walker, James Pierce Jr., Mike Green, Jihaad Campbell, and Membou. I’m good with any of these
