I think there is some smoke to the Sanders drop. Usually QBs shoot up the board the week of the draft. I can't recall someone being hyped as the clear #2 during the whole process dropping from top 2-3 pick to second round. Usually, you have the opposite like last season where McCarthy, Penix and Nix were all talked about as second rounders and weren't talked about as first rounders until the week leading up to the draft.

He also said that the Saints are very very interested in a pass rusher. Specifically mentioned Mykel and Shemar

I’d melt, Shemar follows the Loomis blueprint to a tee.

Shemar is one of my least favorite players in the entire draft

The lack of production is mind boggling. But man if he hits, he’s a stud. Not sure we can take a chance on him though.

I am on the verge of making a thread in his defense.

He's good against the run and got a lot of hurries in college. It's not like he did nothing at all. His PFF run defense grade last year was 88.2, which is elite.

QB Hurries in 2024

Stewart 33.
Carter 44
Green 32
Ezeiruaku 26
Pierce 43
Scourton 28
Williams 15
Jackson 20
Swinson 43

His true pass set pass rush rating was 73.5, which is solid and a far cry from the "no production" claims.

Funny enough, for the LSU fans, Swinson is 3rd at 91.4 in that rating.

Worst case, get him a little bigger to pair next to Bresee as a DI.

I'm perfectly content with someone like the Eagles taking that risk on him and turning him into a star.

It never works out for us

I bet he won't make it passed the 9th pick.

I don’t like Shemar Stewart or Mykel Williams at 9. I would be extremely disappointed. Neither one of them how to play football at an NFL level. They are just big and athletic, I’m praying this is smokescreen

Love to get Swinson in round #3. Probably won’t happen but he is a player rushing the passer nobody talks about.

Good, the hype is insane for someone who will be a bust

I feel like I heard similar things said about Lamar Jackson. Not that I think it is wrong, in this case, I just really have no idea.

That would be dumb for anyone to pick Milroe over Sanders

The NFL will not allow Sanders to fall out of top 15. Bad for the league to see kids sitting in a draft room and not be picked.

I completely agree, as soon as the Derek Carr news comes out and the Panthers start talking about being open to trading down every reporter starts saying that the Saints don't want Sanders. Now McShay is saying that the Saints wouldn't even pick him at 40. Moore also attended the pro days for Ward, Dart, Ewers, and Howard along with held a private workout with Milroe. Doesn't make any sense that Moore would have gotten eyes on every QB in this draft except for Sanders. To me it all seems like a smokescreen to prevent a team from trading up ahead of them for Shedeur.

Which is exactly why they did it. Now teams wonder why are the Saints acting like they don't want Sanders. They must be hiding the fact that they do want Sanders so teams try to move ahead and take him which drops other good players down to pick 9. See it's all very obvious this close to the draft what teams will really do!

Considering NFL teams made almost $500M each last year in revenue sharing, it’s pretty simple. I guarantee there are things like that behind the scenes. Just like Lakers drafting LeBron’s kid. No serious team, that is truly looking to be the best they can be, would have done that. They are more worried about our expanding the leagues influence and grow popularity. Sanders will sell jerseys and where those jerseys are advertised, or how the league promotes players national, will be a reason.

McShay had no clue who they will pick any more than we do. It’s anyone’s guess who we’ll pick.

"Its pretty simple". You answered my question no doubt. Thanks.
