My model ranked all 32 rosters from best to worst ahead of the draft. To do this, the model takes various metrics and assigns a “value” to each player that shows their impact on a single game. Of course, positional value is vital in football, which means superstar running back Saquon Barkley is not going to be as valuable as elite edge rusher Myles Garrett, even though they’re the best players at their respective positions. After summing up the values of each roster, we can rank each team 1-32.

29. New Orleans Saints
This is where the Saints rank if Derek Carr plays quarterback for them this season. If he isn’t, the Saints would fall to the bottom of this list with Spencer Rattler behind center. But maybe that’s not such a bad idea? Turn the keys over to Rattler and see if he can do anything. If he can’t, you accumulate more draft capital and can finally reset the salary cap and roster during a rebuild. Otherwise, this team isn’t winning anything any time soon.

weird cause we are drafting 9th to worst and we had a hurt carr, fired coach and a shitty injured roster nearly most of the year.

but if we have a healthy carr and much better coaching, we are thus 3rd to worst. makes so much sense you guys.

Looks like he wasn't looking beyond the results to evaluate the roster.

I just can't with you any longer chad, you're even knighting for gayle and the management of the pelicans, which has had virtually no success at all. Just accepting you're a blind homer that will do tons of mental gymnastics to defend his team

You’re just kind of glossing over that our high level players are all falling off the cliff talent wise due to age and we have no other real elite talent outside of maybe a center and OT.

We also play in a pretty weak division and if we didn’t we’d likely be a lot closer to picking in the top 3 like he’s rating the talent.

He has been very strange on both the Pelicans and Saints for awhile. I can't 100% tell if its just trolling or some desperate need to take the other side of reality.

Both franchises fricking suck right now, and both have been shitty for most of this decade.

also glossing over it was a traffic jam of terrible teams, titans had 3 wins to our 5...so saying "naaahhhh uh this guy ranks us at 29 but we're drafting 9th worst! IN YOUR FACE!" is interesting logic.

frick goddamnit no I'm not getting dragged down to argue with chad....

what am i glossing off over? cam jordan sucked last year. Many other players are getting better. Olave and Shaheed weren't on field much of year. our o line should be better. D Line arguably better. Reid in secondary. Maybe cb is a question but lattimore hardly played for us last year too.

This is the only fanbase in the world that will knife fight someone over saying we aren't the worst team in whatever sport

even when healthy, he's not a WR1 and he absolutely needs to be given what you they gave up to get him. Loomis failure

Given the investment, both lines should be among the besr in the NFL and neither are considered top 10 when healthy. You can blame Ireland but ultimately he answers to Mickey and hasn't been replaced, mostly because he's still living off the success of that near perfect draft.

You're doing a horrid job of defending this roster

frick GODDAMNIT I AM NOT DOING THIS

That's what happens when we suck after going down a path pretending we didn't. Some of us told y'all this was coming years ago, but people like you always ignored it.

the worst roster is something that can be debated, but the fact that we're in the conversation is a failure on its own....yet our entire FO remains in tact. Do you see the problem?

This is an unbiased source telling you "this is a bad roster" this isn't a guy that has an axe to grind with Mickey. Is his model perfect or the be all end all? No but its another metric telling you its very below average. Now can you point me towards any sources highlighting the amount of talent on the roster?

Many tried to get people to enjoy the Drew/CSP years more but they still wailed and moaned..."CSP sucks and Brees trade him or just dump him". See Denver and the what? 6-7 starters at QB since. We have a long way to go and I'm looking forward to it. But to look where this team is at right now cannot be done without a lot of criticism. The facts are the facts. But things change it's why we watch.

Sad but this is around where Vegas has us with superbowl odds.

Absolutely pathetic job Loomis has done signing free agents and drafting the last few years.

And he just keeps kicking the can further. And keeps his job.

Injuries aren't why our roster is shitty.

Even if we had Ram at full strength, we'd only be a few slots above where we are now.

I don’t what’s his deal, don’t remember it being this bad before. Usually Proximo is the ultimate sunshine pumper and even he has zipped it and went into hiding it’s so bad.
