So we got:
LT - Fuaga
LG - Salvaderi
C - McCoy
RG - Ruiz
RT - Penning

We have a young line.
Any news on how things are going with them?

There is so little actual info coming out of camp, I don’t know if it’s because it’s in Cali or just lack of excitement.

Im also too cheap to pay for Nola.com.

LG Salvador/ Lucas Patrick

I think Lucas has a great shot to beat Nick. Hope they both do well, we need depth.

Penning at RT makes a lot of sense with the style he plays (head on and aggressive) from a run blocking standpoint. IDK about pass protection.

Now the question is for Fuaga. Are you setting back/wasting his development by forcing him into a role he's never played before?

All I’ve heard is the defense continues to play well in all the practices. That being said hard to judge oline without contact/tackle practices. We’ll get a better idea on Monday.

I really hope penning can handle RT
A rookie at LT
Hopefully Salvaderi can handle G

Ruiz has been average last two years

If they have any injuries it’s gonna be brutal for Carr

You will hear a lot of fluff right now. When our oline goes up against another teams #1 dline we may learn something.

Carr is the sacrificial lamb for Rattler midway through the 2025 season.

Sad thing is we have no DEs for them to practice against to get better.

We will never see this alignment …..
but I would have loved to see Fuaga at Right Tackle with the run blocking mauler Penning at Right Guard !!!

That right side would have been impressive in my opinion…but we will never see it for a number of reasons.

Early reports are OL & running game actually look pretty good, better than you'd expect them to look even in just helmets. That's good new obviously but pads go on today for the 1st time so these 3 days will give us & coaches a good idea of what truly look like.

We've waived/IR'd a couple of backup OL already and signed a few more so they are being active & proactive regarding OL which is what I want them to be, and I don't think that's a direct reflection one way or the other on the projected starting 5. I believe that's due diligence on a position group that was subpar last season while also understanding that we are relying on a rookie LT in Fuaga, 2nd yr player/1st yr starter LG in Saldaveri, and 3rd year player at a new position in RT after and underwhelming season last year in Penning. Those are 3 question marks. They could all 3 work and make for a great young OL, but % of us hitting on all 3/3 have got to be very low (33.33% I suppose) so they have to ensure we have capable backups. Hopefully Kubiak can work some magic!

Goal line packages? Whoever is the backup OT (Young?), have him come in at LT, move Fuaga to the tackle eligible position and line him up as a blocking TE next to Penning. And enjoy the carnage while also hoping they stop at the whistle.

If Penning doesn't start, he has to be your tackle eligible that comes in at TE and just gets nasty with whichever tackle he's next to

Patrick and Landon seem to be 6th and 7th right now. Pads coming on today so line news will heat up a bit.

I don't know the exact percentage, but when you have 3 items that all have to hit, your percentage is much lower than 33%. It is something like 18%.

3 unknowns (at best) and an average known.

The OL is going to be a problem. Probably another draft or two away.

Fuaga looks by all the talk to be the real deal thankfully. We may actually get 3 or 4 starters out of this draft.
