Unless some strange things happen, this is a lock.

What's up with Carr's shoulder

Medical staff knew about the shoulder. Front office did not consult before reworking the contract. Carr assumed they knew.

I don’t believe this plan has much of a chance of happening

(1) lol yeah ok buddy

(2) I don't hate the idea of drafting Milroe...just not at 9

Here's what we know for sure about Milroe:
- His athletic ceiling is literally "best rushing QB in the league / maybe ever"
- He is, by all accounts, a good guy/teammate and is coachable
- He has a strong arm and can make all the throws
- He is inaccurate, has bad mechanics, and needs to work on play progression

IMO, this is not a bad player to take a dart throw on in the late first or early second. I would love Milroe at 40, but I'd like even a trade up to the late first for him too.

Imagine this scenario: We take a good OL/DL at 9, and get Milroe. We start Rattler next year, and behind the scenes, we let our new HC - a former QB himself... - work on developing Milroe all through '25. We probably are bad (this board wants to tank so bad! let us do it!) and if a year from now they don't love what they've seen from Milroe behind the scenes, they can make a move for a QB in the draft next year. If they do love him, suddenly we're in a good spot to get more supporting players AND we have a QB with an insane ceiling

Every pick is a gamble, but especially QB. If they're gonna gamble in any way at QB that isn't "#1 overall pick", this would be my preference. Gamble on guys whose upside is top 5 QB.

There is a below 0% chance that our medical staff knew but the front office did not. Literally, 0.000%.

We are trading back for an extra 2nd round pick. Will draft Milroe with the free pick

Milroe is a H-back not a QB

I have zero qualms about drafting Milroe in the second round. He could be a solid RB or TE, or a really fringe project at QB. I just don't think any of the QBs in this year's draft are worth using the 9th pick in the first round. This team has needs EVERYWHERE, and the QB position simply doesn't have the talent in this draft necessary to mask all of those holes. We need a Corner, Wide receiver, tight end, running back, o-line, and d-line. In fact, at this point, it's a better question of what is NOT a position of need verses what is!

You can miss on Milroe and have him step into the Taysom role if we draft another QB.

It's hilarious that people believe this. Milroe isn't playing any Taysom Hill role nor is he even close to being a better athlete than Taysom. Milroe has his mind set on proving his former offensive coordinator Bill O'Brien to be wrong. He's going to sink or swim trying to be a QB & QB only.

Nice little contingency to get out in the event they don’t trade back, or someone “reaches” for Millie before they have a chance to draft him at the right value

Sink. Milroe will sink. He isn't close to being an NFL qb. If him or Ewers are selected in the second round. Maybe your grandkids will see the Saints in the playoffs one day.

More accurate to say he has a strong arm and is capable of throwing the ball any distance required. Why do I say it that way? Because
quote:

- He is inaccurate, has bad mechanics,

I saw him, under no pressure, throw a screen pass into the turf at the feet of a wide-open receiver with half a football field of green in front of him.

quote:

and needs to work on play progression

And this is why he threw many of the pics he threw.

He is a project, but a project that could pay fantastic dividends; however, if you take him too early, that could easily backfire.
