Saints QB options for 2025

I’ll start out by saying I’m so glad we dodged wasting a 1st on a QB in this draft. That being said, here are the realistic QB options that I see for 2025 and what I think the range of wins are for each:
1. Start Rattler to see what we have. Range: 3-6 wins
2. Sign or trade for a veteran such as Winston or Wentz. Range: 3-7 wins
3. Draft Tyler Shough and start him. Range: 3-6 wins.
4. Start Haener. Range: 2-4 wins
5. Draft Sanders. Range: 3-5 wins.
If there is another Realistic option that I’m not seeing, feel free to suggest. We can disagree about the range of wins but can surely agree that none of these options will get us 9 wins or more. Considering all of these options, I think option1 is the best use of resources. Prepare to develop the roster and go QB hunting next offseason.

Why draft a QB that is not even as good as Rattler. Just start Rattler. Finish at the bottom of the league. Gain draft picks. Get your franchise QB next year. Profit.

So what do we do if Kellen Moore is a great coach, Rattler is mid but not the future, we have minimal injuries, and win 8 or 9 games next year?
Draft the 6th best QB at 15? Trade 3 1sts to move up for what is still a dart throw QB at 1 or 2?

There's nothing that guarantees you to get that. Franchise QBs are like top 10 picks probably top five picks typically. The Tom Brady approach only works every so often and not likely. They're doing exactly what I wanted them to do I want them to get a QB later for depth. Haner isn't gonna cut it but if you have 2 Spencer Rattlers I'd feel better about that. And "if" we have the chance to get a franchise type guy next year then yes you do it.

I'm not opposed to drafting a QB and rolling the dice with Rattler. Just posted this in another thread, but quinn ewers would be a solid pick for that plan based on his current day 3 projection. I wouldn't be mad if saints took him with one of the round 3 picks tonight. I also wouldn't be mad about shedeur sanders either. I just didn't want him at pick 9

love his arm talent. keeps his eyes down field, moves the pocket with his feet, he shows touch on deep passes, out passes, makes quick reads under pressure, athletic enough to run, tremendous size for his athletic ability, age is maturity imo, has that underdog background. I've watched his highlights over and over and i know its only all the good stuff, but i see nothing but a first round talent qb. and i had no idea who this cat was when i watched the combine stuff.

The people here who want to "wait til next year" are talking out of both sides of their mouth. "Draft players to improve the roster now, but be bad this year and get a top pick for a QB!" This team won 5 games last year with a DOGSHIT coaching staff and very very bad injury luck. If we actually draft any impact players this year it is very feasible we could be more in the 15-19 draft range next draft, and then we're even farther away.
The reality is this..drafting a QB is ALWAYS going to be a dart throw unless you get the first pick (still some risk there obviously, too). You are almost always going to have to draft a guy higher than the board dictates - the Titans just took Ward #1 despite him being more of a consensus 8-15 range on big boards with three amazing blue chip talents sitting there. No matter what we will probably have to reach eventually to draft a QB.
What I care most about is that the team believes in whatever QB they draft, whomever it may be.

But he sucked when he faced stiff competition. All that BS you just typed means nothing if he is playing against Pine Bluff State.

he sucked or louisville sucked?
either way, he went toe to toe against cam ward.

Fair enough. I'm not worried about the age either other than sometimes it means "can he really get better?" but QBs get better in their 30s all the time so not really an issue. I'm not worried about the injuries either since they were all bone breaks which to me is more freak injury stuff.
My fears with him are mostly:
1) He kinda has that tall QB thing where it feels like when the pocket breaks down a bit he's tripping over his own feet. Guys like Brady and Manning had this early too though
2) There are a lot of examples both in games and in the combine where he just loses the ball and throws weird arse misses. Don't know whats up with that

the combine throw was him being dumb/silly doing some no look shite, it was prescripted he wanted to have fun there.
re: some concerns are fair. but there's concerns with nearly any pick. hardly anything is a guarantee.

Kellen Moore will have to love the 3 P's of a QB.

The Pedigree of the player of sorts.

Isn’t Nussmeier’s dad coaching?
If so, we’re taking Nuss next year so not sure why we’d even take one of the remaining guys
