Saints talent level is worse than everyone thinks; this coming yr will prove it.

I’m thinking the same 5 win level in the coming season…..only because they play in the shittiest division with Tampa, Atlanta and Carolina. Otherwise I might say 4 wins.
But that’s ok…. We need to go through this to rebuild the team via the NFL Draft and Fix the salary cap.
If we are really lucky….the beginning of the New Coaches 4th year… we MAY have a young playoff caliber team…. IF we can hit in 3 years of drafts and finally put this Fukkin Salary Cap Crap behind us.
Time will tell…. But it’s going to be a long next 3 years.

Skill positions got somewhat ignored as spent a ton to improve the lines, but with so many misses now both areas are mediocre to bad
Poor coaching hires, poor FA signings, poor drafting….and yet this FO remains completely in tact.

I'm usually pretty optimistic with the Saints but I agree with OP. Our best players should have retired 2-3 years ago. Not enough good young talent, and our depth is awful at almost every position. I'm excited about the new coaching staff don't get me wrong. I'm not optimistic about 2025 season though. I'll still be watching!!

Our talent level is pure SH&^, not to mention old and over the hill. We are at least 3-4 years from even thinking about sniffing the playoffs!

Thanks to Loomis' completely f*cking moronic restructuring of Carr's contract, you can look at no more than a five win season for the next 3 to 4 years. Loomis is really f*cking this team over with his abject f*cking incompetence.

As long as Loomis is there this will be the norm.

Who in the heck thinks this team is talented???? lol it’s the least talented team I’ve seen us field in many many years. Been a fan since 80. I’d say the Ditka era would be the last time this team had so few playmakers.

If the Saints end up having another season similar to what happened last year, Loomis could get fired so there's always that kind of upside.

No...Loomis will NEVER be fired, he's far too 'entrenched' in the Saints front office/ownership clan. If anything he might 'fall' further upstairs !

Dude nobody is expecting to win. This is about enduring this shite time to be a fan, stockpiling good drafts.

Tigerbait2008……
Your attempts at wit are extremely feeble.
Why don’t you try Hemlok…it’s a wonderful drink.

Rebuild with the owner and front office we have?!? Why should anyone have any cause for optimism with the clowns that are in charge of this circus?

Our talent level is expansion team level at this point, and most of the players who are starting caliber are past their prime with contracts they’ll never live up to.

Yeah we have shaheed coming off a huge injury, Olave who is oft concussed and never a true number one (that we paid a true number one price for), and an old running back who while good is on the downslope of his career.
Juwan Johnson is just a guy, miller hasn’t even been that. The rest of the WRs are so bad that half our fanbase was bummed we couldn’t resign career journeyman MVS.

We will see massive improvement this year
In what areas? This untalented team is a year older and thinner and now we don’t even have our average qb

New staffs mean learning curve. I imagine a very slow start especially with a new opening day QB. They can lose games and still show they are starting to get the new systems on both sides.

And this is why I believe we should drsft the best player available at a position that usually has longevity. Pick the best DT, OL available to build a strong foundation.
We don’t need to reach for a QB or pick a RB or pick a player at a position that won’t be good four, five, six years from now.

This was going to be a bad year BEFORE Carr was injured.
The team could have been halfway toward solving its cap issues. Instead it doubled down for this year.
The worst thing about the Carr injury is that Mickey can hide behind it. It would have even better to see us win 5-7 games with Carr so that Mickey would have to acknowledge his incompetence.
