The Miami Dolphins have been selected as the designated home team for the first ever NFL game to be played in Madrid. The Saints play Miami on the road this year. Divisional games are not played overseas, so that would eliminate the Bills, Patriots, and Jets as possible opponents for Miami. That leaves the Saints, Commanders, Bucs, Ravens, Bengals, and Chargers as their possible opponent in Madrid. Being that more often than not, the international games/matchups are shitty, we certainly qualify in that regard as well. So yeah, we could avoid a true road game and get our L early in the morning so we can enjoy the rest of our day.

The Saints are affiliated with Paris, France.

I'm aware of that. That doesn't mean that we can't be chosen as the away team for this game in Madrid. The only 2 teams affiliated with Spain are the Dolphins and Bears.

Unless they are trying to tank the game to really sell Miami to Madrid; the better draw for the NFL would be Commanders (JD), Ravens (Lamar), Bengals (Burrow), and Chargers (Herbert). And unless I am overlooking a connection from this image from the NFL's site, none of those teams are currently affiliated with another country. Whereas the Saints are already tied to France; although, they could do multiple countries and being tied to France & Spain would make sense considering LA's history

This should be Exhibit A about the NFL pushing the Rams into the Super Bowl.

Also, I hate these overseas games. Just bring back NFL Europe if you want to get the exposure.

The baffling part is where are the chargers? That other LA team often finds themselves on the short end of the stick and aren’t affiliated with any international country.

I assume a game in Madrid would be at the Bernabeu, which is an incredible stadium where Real Madrid plays.

Should’ve made this a Saints home game as some relief to the season ticket holders.

Looks like it might be the Bengals vs Dolphins in Spain in November.
