According to Jordan Schultz, the Saints are calling teams about the possibility of trading down to acquire more draft capitol to use to trade back into the later part of the first round.

I will say despite this I don’t know how much I believe it given Mickeys track record of never trading back

I would believe it more if you said Loomis wants to trade to get back into late round 1.

Its a weak draft class. Everyone is trying to trade back. Problem is there arent many teams who will want to trade up

Always have to remember one thing when you hear these rumors. Mickey has said many times he calls around to a lot of team up and down about trading picks before the draft to get an idea of what it would take, or what they would receive. Many teams do it because it initiates the conversation to speed up any potential talks when there is so little time to make a decision

Will be so disappointed if we draft Dart. It will be a wasted pick, which we've made too many of the last few years.

If he's the guy we want, do it at 9. Don't push your luck

The problem is, just like in every draft, teams value the draft prospects much differently than fans do and that's why fans are always shocked and perplexed when players get drafted higher than they expect or teams trade up for certain players and when players thye love and are sure are going to be the next HoFer drop like rocks.

It always happens and will happen again tonight.

Believe it. Teams always call around to other teams about trading up or down. SOP.

Would be a great idea with all the old/injured players and the cap situation.

They’re probably also calling teams about trading up, they also may pick at #9

Reporters can basically make up whatever they want right now

This isn’t newsworthy. This isn’t weak draft class and that thought is just asinine. Every team makes calls and gets an idea of trading up or down to see what is out there. This is called doing their job and preparing for scenarios. I do believe there is some truth to them trying to gain ammo to move back into the first but this has no barring in this draft being weak just like them calling to find out what it will cost to trade up means much of anything

Logical trade partners are Dallas at 11, Denver at 20 or Steelers at 21.

- Dallas would have to throw in pick 87 to come up.
- Denver would have to throw in 52 and a 4th rounder.
- Steelers would have to throw in 51 and 119.

Dallas makes the most sense, since the extra third rounder could be used to go up to first round and get Dart. The logical trading partners are Washington and Philidelphia.

- Washington would also get our late 3rd or early 4th
- Philly would also get our late 4th rounder.

Trading back and getting one of the OL or James Pearce wouldn’t be bad at all

Picking Dart in the first would absolutely be moronic.
