I know a lot of Saints fans probably don’t think Gayle is a great owner, but how much better or worse do you think the Saints would be if Rita had become the owner instead? I’ve heard some bad things about her personally, but in a purely football sense, would she be better?

Rita would've moved the team so it really isn't a conversation.

They’d be in San Antonio
Unless Jerry Jones stepped up and blocked it (again)

She is basically uninvolved except to say she wants to insure the team stays in Louisiana.
I am probably in the minority but I prefer an uninvolved owner to a hyper-involved owner who really knows nothing about football on any level.
I would love to see another owner or owner's group that has Louisiana ties.
The three people that come to mind are Todd Graves (Canes), Matt Stuller (Stuller Settings), and Bill Goldring (Sazerac Company). All are worth over a billion and all know how to run a business and raise funding for projects (like buying the Saints). It just has to be for sale.

All 3 would be good owners in my opinion but I prefer Todd simply for the fact that he's only in his early 50s and the team would be stable for years to come.

Yep, I agree, I was really thinking those guys in an ownership group like Benson put together when he bought the Saints from Mecham. I could see Graves as the chairman with him buying them out over the next few years. Easier on his budgeting for the initial purchase.

The problem is she’s an owner who's never created wealth nor run a successful business. NFL and NBA teams print money. Just look at the valuations of Pels when they purchased vs now.
You can be hands off until it’s time to be hands on and she doesn’t know how to. Any other GM would’ve been fired for malpractice over the past seven years because of atrocious drafting and creating a cap hell.

I think the next ownership will likely be made up of shareholders.

The best organization in the league is owned by a guy that created wealth by his granddad being a oil tycoon decade's before he was born. Then a decade before he was born his dad created a football league to rival the NFL.

Clark Hunt also has spent 35+ years in that organization, helped establish the MLS, bought and sold three MLS teams and has business acumen.
Gayle failed at running interior design firms and was sued heavily for bad business deals and then Tom had to save her.
He also doesn’t have a GM and president who are both tied to his trust if he were to ever die.
