Stay at 40, keep the two 3rd and 4th rounders and BUILD a young roster

Enough good prospects are available that you can get a good player at 40.
Be open to teams wanting to move up and add extra 2nd-5th rounders this year and next. Don’t spend picks to move up for a player (unless someone like Amos, for example, is available at the first pick of the 4th round - he won’t be.)
This team has got to fill roster spots across the board at every position. Start rebuilding with a young base and supplement with FA. Get the cap in order and be prepared to let young guys take their lumps for a couple seasons.
As a fan I’m willing to accept a couple bad seasons if they go this route rather than attempting to compete for a playoff spot with an aging veteran roster.

I would be fine packaging those two 3rds for Higgins or Green if they are there near the end of round 2.
I’m hoping for Johnson or Emmanwori are pick 40.

You go get Green. He’s a game wrecker. They have the leaders in Davis, Jordan, Badger to mentor him. There’s gonna be really good players on the board at 40 but you take a top 20 talent at 40.

Well Mickey did say at his presser before the draft.
“What do we have 8 picks? 9 picks? We’ll be drafting 9 players. “.
Maybe he agrees with you.
With 7 picks until the Saints are on the board at 40 there will be a few really good prospects available for them.
ESPNs top 10 currently
1 Will Johnson CB
2 Mike Green EDGE
3 Nick Emmanwori S
4 Donovan Ezeiruaku Edge
5 Darius Alexander DT
6 Trayvon Henderson RB
7 Shavon Reval CB
8 Shaduer Sanders QB
9 Elija Arroyo TE
10) Trey Amos CB
Other notables
Jayden Higgins WR
Mason Taylor TE
Shamer Turner DL
Trey Harris WR
Luther Burdon WR
Tyler Shough QB
Nic Scourton Edge.

You take Ratledge just for the hair.
Rumor has it that he weighed 308 at the combine, but 10 lbs of that was his mullet.
