This franchise is going nowhere for quite sometime as long as they refuse to start a complete rebuild. They are in an awful cap situation and without drastic changes have no way to attract top free agents. Trying to cobble pieces together around Carr and remain relevant will set them back a long time.

So it sounds like the QB IS kind of a problem indirectly.

Exactly. Carrs contract is why we can’t rebuild. We’re basically forced to extend everyone and run it back.

The biggest problems are offensive line and wide receiver. Next is defensive line. Bad lines = bad teams. However, Carr’s contract is expensive, making it difficult to rebuild those other assets. Carr isn’t really the problem, but he’s not really the solution either.
