We probably need to discuss 1st Round OL more. Membou, Simmons, etc

The Saints love to take DL and OL early, and for some reason we have kind of been dismissive of the concept of OL at 9, in favor of QBs, TE, WR, DE, etc

But with some chatter coming out yesterday...we probably need to discuss it.

I think Will Campbell is likely gone but we all know him so maybe the discussion there isn't as needed.

Armand Membou

Kelvin Banks

Josh Simmons

Josh Conerly Jr

Grey Zabel

All guys that could go in the 1st. I believe the Saints done an official 30 with at least Simmons.

If Membou is there at 9, are you considering him? (FYI: NFL.com has him rated higher than Campbell)

I will never have a problem with the Saints drafting an OT early.

Seems like the consensus is if you want a OT get him early. This class is deep with DL and edge guys. So I can see Membou being the pick.

I’ve seen Membou mocked to us but I don’t know much about him.

Pure Right Tackle, not a left tackle. Will 100% play Right Tackle in the pros.

Elite athlete, considered a better athlete than say Will. Young for the draft, great quickness

Apparently a lot of Scouts consider him to be a bit too short to play Tackle at 6'4". Arm length is only a half inch longer than Campbell

He's definitely in the "could be an All-Pro Guard but projects as an OK OT" category like Fuaga.

Maybe next year we get a real OT or 2 and can have the best interior OL in the NFL?

I'd only take Membou or Campbell in the 1st and I'd take Membou over Campbell.

Conerly, Ersery, Simmons have all taken Top 30s

Perhaps more in the trade down range. Not sure they’re there at 40. Maybe Ersery. Simmons is going to jump up after getting a clean bill on the knee. Few have him OT1

They’ve visited with Campbell and Banks, among others, too

My first choice is actually an elite OT. Would love Membou. Could be G for a year then move out to RT next year with Penning gone. Would make for a very solid line.

Elite teams almost always have an elite OLine.

Membou is the only one imo that could go that high. Simmons is def underrated and without that knee injury he could go top 10. With that being said im not upset if they take Membou, Campbell (i have some concerns but not major ones), or even Simmons.

Zabel is gonna have to move inside.
Josh Conerly is a fringe 2nd round pick.

I like the upside of Ursery who could go late first early second.

Sleeper is Charles Grant.

The more I think about the draft the more I've been liking the idea of Membou. I know Simmons is coming off an injury and wil likely slide but when healthy, he is likely the best tackle in this class. For me its a long term fix so I'd be great with Simmons as well Perhaps trade back which I know we never do and add Simmons later in the first round.
